A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Thank you to those of you who joined us for Parent Teacher Conferences. We enjoyed talking with you and partnering to ensure your student's success. If you were unable to make it, please feel free to reach out to teams and teachers via email to set up a time that works for you.
We are still hoping to reduce the number of nuisance objects making their way to school. Please keep this conversations alive at home and remind students to leave items of interest and value there. We only want students bringing items necessary for class to MPMS. We have been having the biggest issues with small toys and fidgets.. These items are not needed at school and teachers may require students to take them to their lockers or place in a basket in the classroom to limit disruption. Wireless earbuds and headphones are subject to our cell phone policy per our student handbook.
We will continue to discuss self-direction as our monthly CKH theme this week and soon we will wrap up our first unit of Second Step social-emotional learning. Our next unit is all about bullying which is a great fit because October is Bullying Prevention Month and we want to work together to make MPMS a place where everyone feels safe and as though they belong.
Be on the lookout for CKH award announcements this week along with M-Step score reports coming home (unless you picked them up at conferences) and information about our annual school fundraiser. We only do one for the school, so we appreciate everyone's participation!
THIS WEEK'S LAUNCH: "Direction is more important than speed."
Mrs. Russell
MPMS Principal
