Greetings,

On Wednesday evening, we celebrated our newest National Junior Honor Society inductees. Congratulations to all of these students on this well-earned recognition. We look forward to the great work they will do as leaders and contributors to the Springton Lake community (pictured below).

Your voice matters at Springton Lake Middle School. We value family feedback and invite you to take a few minutes to complete our Family Survey: Parent/Guardian: Engagement & School Climate.

Students will also complete surveys at least twice each year, helping us understand their experiences and perspectives. Your input will help us understand what is going well, identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen communication, and support a positive experience for every Spartan. We will share updates throughout the year so families can see how their feedback informs our work and school decisions. We will also discuss survey results and feedback at upcoming Principal’s Advisory Board meetings.

With gratitude,
Principal Buterbaugh

The Springton Lake Middle School Salute to Service Club is excited to announce our “Spartans Salute to Service” Fundraiser!

We will be selling a variety of long-sleeved shirts that are a meaningful way for our SLMS community to honor and recognize the men and women who have sacrificed and served our country.

All funds raised through this fundraiser will directly support the schoolwide annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. As a new service project, SLMS students will create care packages for active-duty and retired military personnel as a way to show our gratitude and appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

Show Your Spartan Pride & Support a Great Cause!

The online store is open to all Springton Lake Middle School families and staff.

Orders must be placed by SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18th at 11:59 PM.

Shirts will be delivered to Springton Lake and distributed to students and staff once orders are fulfilled.

We hope you’ll consider purchasing a shirt and helping our students continue this meaningful tradition of service, gratitude, and giving back. Staff and students will be encouraged to wear the shirts on various spirit days including Veteran's Day on November 11th.

Thank you for supporting the SLMS Salute to Service Club!

Attendance Attendance

Regular school attendance is essential for success in school and contributes to the development of good work habits, a sense of responsibility, and self-discipline.

Call our Absentee Voicemail Hotline (610-627-6500, ext. 2) each day the student is absent. Absence is the non-attendance of a student on those days in which school is in session.

  • In addition to the telephone call, a written note, or completing this FORM indicating the reason for the absence must be submitted upon the student’s return to school.

All families will continue to receive an automated telephone call whenever a student is marked absent in homeroom. The call will be sent regardless if you have called the attendance hotline. This is an enhanced safety procedure that we are pleased to have available.

Homecoming - A note from PHS Principal Roth Homecoming - A note from PHS Principal Roth

At Penncrest, we love having our Future Lions from Springton Lake come to our Friday night football games. In order to ensure that everyone has a safe, enjoyable experience we would like to remind students and families of the following:

- Students that are in middle school are expected to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is always a sizable crowd, and we do not have the staff to supervise children that are dropped off and left unattended.

- Bags are prohibited. Students cannot bring a schoolbag or other bag unless it is a small handbag. If a student does bring a bag, it may be confiscated.

- Students may not bring footballs or any other athletic equipment. Anyone who is throwing a ball around the stadium complex may have the ball confiscated and/or be asked to leave.

- Any student who does not comply with the directives of school security may be subject to discipline, as the Rose Tree Media School District Code of Conduct applies to all district activities.

Again, we love having our middle school students at Penncrest games and other events. We want to share these reminders to ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves as they support the players, cheerleaders, and marching band. If you have never been to a game, I strongly encourage you to come out and enjoy a night at Penncrest with 1000 of your friends and neighbors. I promise you that our focus is more about building community and having fun than it is enforcing the rules above!
