Fostering a Growth Mindset
Take a look at these smiling faces. This photo was taken AFTER our school spelling bee this past Friday morning. Nine great spellers started out on stage and in the end only Natalie remained, but all participants remained positive and confident - even through disappointment. That's because they have a growth mindset.
Having a growth mindset is more than just positive thinking. It is the understanding that our abilities and capacity to grow can be developed through dedication and hard work. Take a look at this LINK to gain a better understanding of this concept and to help you foster a growth mindset in your children.
Warmly,
Mr. Lynch

Hello wonderful Wildwood community!
Thank you again for helping make the Fall Fest such an incredible success. Before we head into the holiday season, we’d love to invite you to get involved in planning two fantastic upcoming school events.
📚 February School Book Fair
We’re looking for 3–4 volunteers to join a committee supporting our VP of Ways and Means, Sarah Buchanan, in planning the annual Book Fair, complete with the always-popular Cookies & Jammies Night!
🏃 April Jog-A-Thon
We also need 4–5 wonderful parents to help us begin planning this fun spring fundraiser.
Meetings will start in January with dates chosen based on what works for the committee.
If you’re interested in helping with either event, please sign-up HERE.
For any questions, please reach out to Sarah Buchanan at wildwoodtigerspta@gmail.com.
We can’t wait to work with this amazing community to create memorable events for our kiddos.
Happy Holidays!

Quick-N-Easy Volunteer Opportunities
Book & Math Materials Organizer:
Support classroom learning by keeping our shared Bookroom and math materials organized and easy to find. Perfect for someone who enjoys tidying, sorting, and creating order. Volunteer anytime between 8am–4pm, one to two hours weekly. (Note: We are thankful to have secured one volunteer for this task, and we are hoping to secure a few more)
CREATE Program Volunteer:
Help bring creativity to life! Supervise students during the CREATE program on Wednesdays from 9:15–10:45am. Set out recyclable building materials for students to design and invent during morning recess, then help tidy up afterward. Volunteer weekly, every other week, or once a month.
DAC Representative Substitute:
Our current AADAC and GATEDAC representative may be unable to attend monthly meetings for the next few months, so we are currently seeking a substitute who can attend these meetings and send the meeting notes to the Wildwood School Site Council (SSC) team. Please take a look at THIS DAC Meeting Calendar if you are interested in lending a hand.
Please contact the school office at kmeyer@conejousd.org or 805-492-3531 to express interest or to learn more about any of these opportunities.
