EJMS Families,
We’ve reached the end of another great week at EJMS! Apparently it was one of the hottest on record…until Friday and now the cool temps are rolling in. Sixth grade had an amazing time at Devine’s Pumpkin Patch. Thank you to those of you that attended our first session of the Jaguar Parent Playbook. The recap can be found in this newsletter. Stay tuned for information on the second session where we will talk about supporting your student academically! We are looking forward to a great week with our first dance of the school year.

Note to Families: NTI Information
Dear Families,
This note contains important information about our Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plan.
Student Work & Access
All students received NTI packets in their homeroom class in September as communicated in our previous update. These packets will contain work for all 10 NTI days and should stay at home. Please be sure you have your student's packet; if not, reach out to their homeroom teacher.
For students with internet access, there is an option to complete assignments online. All online assignments will be posted by 8:00 AM on the morning of the NTI day.
Teacher Availability
Teachers will be available to help students via Google Meet from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
All student NTI information, including assignments and the Google Meet link, will be posted in your student's Google Classroom under the "NTI" category.
To support families who need help in the evenings, at least one teacher from each grade will be available from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM for each NTI day. This contact information will be posted on Google Classroom and shared by individual grade levels.
Teachers will also be available during school hours to respond to emails.

Small Groups Launching
My name is Katie Jones, and I am the Mental Health Counselor at EJMS. I will be launching several small, supportive groups for students navigating challenges related to anxiety, stress, and low mood. These groups aim to provide a safe space for students to connect, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and build resilience. Groups will meet once a week for 8 weeks during a non-core academic class.
Please complete this brief form if you feel your child would benefit from this resource.

Title 1 News
TItle 1 Family/School Compact
Each Title I school must hold an Annual Title 1 Meeting in which information regarding the program's purpose and how our school uses Title 1 Funds in order to improve academic achievement and staff development at EJMS. During this meeting, parents and families also receive the School/Family Compact to sign and return back to the school. This year, the Annual Title 1 Meeting was part of our recent Open House/Block Party. If you were not able to attend the event or did not have the chance to view the presentation, you can do so and sign the family/school compact through the below Google form. There is also a narrated recording of the presentation below. Thanks so much to the families who completed this last week - we're getting closer to our goal of having a response from all of our EJMS families.
