Food, Family and Society Class Cooking Up Homemade Pizza

Students in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family and Society class have been learning about how food has transitioned over time. They prepared "pioneer foods"-- recipes using simple, staple, basic ingredients grown in our environment. Just recently, they talked about "traditional foods"-- hearty, wholesome, made from scratch foods, that bring people together. They made homemade pizza dough and topped it off with their favorite toppings. The feeling of pride in making their pizzas homemade was sensed in the classroom, not to mention, they enjoyed eating them!

OUR KIDS. OUR COMMUNITY. OUR FUTURE.

REFERENDUM 2024:

Question 1 - Operational Referendum:

$1,900,000 per year for 5 years to maintain current programs and services.
($7.00 per year or $0.58 per month per $100,000 of fair market property value)

Question 2 - Capital Referendum:
$26,500,000 to address our most critical needs.
($126.00 per year or $10.50 per month per $100,000 of fair market property value)

Our annual operating budget alone will not cover the needed upgrades and waiting to make the investment will continue to increase the cost of construction while placing our facilities in greater need of repair.

Please visit our website for details about the referendum including a tax calculator to help you understand the impact to you personally.

Mental Wellness Screener

The School District of Omro, in partnership with Collaborative Wellness, will once again be offering an opportunity for your child to complete a mental wellness screener. The screening will take place on October 30th during Fox Time. When students self-assess their own mental health and social-emotional wellness, it allows us to ensure we’re not missing anything they may be struggling with. The questions the students will be answering will focus on identifying behaviors like stress, shutting down, disengaging, desiring control, being argumentative or disruptive, help-seeking, and the ability to effectively make transitions. Please know that the screener is conducted in a professional manner, and all student information and data are confidential and only used in a way that will ultimately enhance your child's educational experience. The results of the screener will be used to reinforce best practice and support positive behavioral health for all children. Your child’s information will remain confidential, however, if any significant concerns are identified, we will follow-up with you. We have a list of the names of the students who were opted out by parents during school registration to ensure they do not participate in the screener.

Please feel free to contact Jaime Ellison at jelli@omro.k12.wi.us or Connie Bernier at cbern@omro.k12.wi.us if you have any questions.
