Warhawk Equipped
Dear Warhawk Families and Community,
At Westerville Central, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to participate fully in school life, regardless of their circumstances. We are proud to announce the launch of Warhawk Equipped, a new initiative dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of accessible resources for our students.
A Student-Led Vision: This program was founded and started by WCHS Junior Austyn Sharp as part of her Global Scholars program, reflecting her commitment to community service and student equity.
What is Warhawk Equipped? The mission of this program is to provide hygiene products and sporting equipment to students in need. Whether it is ensuring a student has the gear required to participate in a sport or providing daily hygiene essentials, Warhawk Equipped aims to tackle these challenges ethically, efficiently, and at no cost to the student.
To maintain dignity and privacy, all student requests are submitted anonymously. Students can pick up hygiene items the following school day or sporting equipment within one week, all through the Main Office.
How You Can Help
We invite our community to join us in making this program sustainable and impactful. If you would like to support your fellow Warhawks, there are several ways to give:
1. Donate Physical Items We are currently seeking donations of the following items:
Hygiene Items: [Insert List, e.g., Deodorant, soap, toothpaste, feminine products]
Sporting Equipment: [Insert List, e.g., Cleats, shin guards, gloves, tennis rackets]
*Note: To ensure the safety and readiness of our athletes, we ask that all donated equipment be either new or in gently used/usable condition.
Drop-off Details:
When: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Where: Main Office
2. Monetary Donations Financial contributions can be made directly through our [Hometown Ticketing Site - Warhawk Equipped Monetary Donations]. When donating, you have the flexibility to:
Direct your funds to a specific sport or area.
Select the "Pay to Play" fund to help a student cover athletic participation fees.
Contribute to the general fund to support ongoing hygiene and equipment needs.
Our goal is for Warhawk Equipped to have a positive, long-term effect on the lives of our students. We are grateful for your continued partnership in making Central a place where every student is prepared to succeed.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
School Clinic Updates
Hello Warhawk Families!
We have officially arrived at the peak of cold and flu season, so I wanted to share a few reminders to keep our students as healthy as possible and our school running smoothly.
Under the weather? Stay home please 🙂
If your student is ill, please keep them home, even if they are scheduled to take a test or submit an assignment. Absences due to illness are excused, and students will be given the opportunity to make up missed work. Anytime there is a fever of 100.1°F or greater, students are required to stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Keeping sick students at home helps protect the health of our entire school community, and we appreciate your partnership in this effort.
If your child starts feeling unwell during the school day, they should come to the school clinic for support and evaluation. If they reach out to you first, remind them to check in with me as well.
Junior Vision and Hearing Screenings
Parents of Juniors, we will be screening your student in February as required by the Ohio Department of Health. Please remind them to wear their glasses or contacts. If your student does not pass you will receive a referral letter by email. These screenings do not replace recommended examinations by eye care specialists, audiologists, or your student's primary care provider.
REQUIRED Meningitis Booster for Juniors
The required meningitis booster must be completed before students return to school in August. Please plan ahead to ensure your student meets this requirement on time. Proof of vaccination or a signed exemption form is required by the 15th day of schoolAppointment information and scheduling can be found at the links below. HOPE DAY
Westerville Central High School will host our Hope Squad’s first Mental Health & Wellness Fair on January 28, 2026, during the school day. This event promotes mental health awareness, reduces stigma, and connects students and staff with trusted community resources. Students will engage with local mental health professionals, wellness organizations, and service providers through interactive experiences focused on overall well-being. We are grateful to our community partners who make this meaningful day possible.
School Counseling Updates
Attention Juniors and Seniors interested in taking the ASVAB:
The ASVAB is a great tool to give students insight to their skills and potential occupations for their future. Taking the ASVAB is a mandatory test for military enlistment, however you could still take the test if you would like another tool for career exploration. The test is free and will be held:
Date: Tuesday, January 27th
Time: 8:00am (Student should arrive no later than 7:45am)
Place: Westerville South High School Library
** Students from Westerville North and Westerville Central are invited but must find their own transportation. Students from WNHS and WCHS must sign in at the Main Office prior to coming to the Library.
Students need to complete the Google form to register for the ASVAB test. The deadline to register is January 21st. See your counselor if you have any questions.
