Principals' Message
Hello Pershing Families,
Happy September! We are ready to show what we know this month! Thank you to all our families who have been great at getting our students here each day and on time. Please keep up the good work.
For our kindergarten parents we know drop-off is still a bit tough, but we ask that everyone stand back from our kinder lines and let all students get through the gates in line with their teachers and friends. Please kiss and hug your child before putting them in line so they can walk through the gates without the adults. This is just a safety precaution. There are a lot of people that swarm our Scoville entrance because pre-k enters there 5 mins after kinder. It would help a great deal if parents exited the big gate opening instead of the student exit.
Just some reminders....if you want your child to be in the car pick-up line with me on Scoville at the end of the day, please make sure they know and also let their teacher know. This is very helpful. Also, this is kind of a "biggie..." The students are served breakfast each morning in their classrooms. If you want to get your student a special drink or special breakfast, those items need to be eaten before they come to school. Bringing in donuts and drinks causes a stir in our really tight morning routines. Thank you for your cooperation with this each day.
Thank you for your partnership~
Ms. Bazz & Mr. Dukett

Estimadas familias de Pershing:
Hola familias de Pershing:
¡Feliz septiembre!
Traer donas y bebidas altera nuestras apretadas rutinas matutinas. Gracias por su cooperación diaria.
Con gratitud,
Sra. Bazz y Sr. Dukett

Arrival/Dismissal---Llegada/Salida.
Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Pershing School experiences heavy traffic during arrival and dismissal. Parking is limited, and our streets are crowded with students and adults. To ensure a safe and efficient drop-off or pick-up, please arrive early.
It is essential that families use the Scoville Avenue or park legally and walk their students to their designated lines on the blacktop. Always cross the street at marked crosswalks with a crossing guard. Students must never cross in the middle of the street.
The bus lane is for buses only. If your student(s) is late please park (not in the bus lane)and walk them into the building.
- Drop-off/Pick-up: Ms. Bazz will be on Scoville Ave. to help students out of and into cars at arrival and dismissal. Please DO NOT double park. You will be asked to please drive around again if your child is not out when your car pulls up. Your child should be aware if they need to come to the pick up line with Ms. Bazz.
- Student Readiness: Students should be ready to exit or enter the car immediately upon stopping.
- Walking Students: If adults plan on walking with their student(s) to the blacktop, please park your vehicle in a legal spot and do not double park.
- School Buses: School buses load and unload at the main entrance of the school on 37th Street.
- Playground Lines: If you wait with your students on the playground before school, please walk them into their line and step away. We do not want parents/family standing in the students lines. You are free to stay until we walk in, but please stand towards the back or against the fence. This is for safety purposes and we apologize if this is tough to do.
Thank you for your cooperation in following these procedures. Your efforts help keep all our students and families safe.
