Heads Up! Heads Up!

What we are seeing....

As a district we are constantly looking for ways to support our students in being happy, healthy, and safe. We have noticed that the months that students return back to school (Sept-Nov) are the highest instances of vaping.

This could be in part due to the increase in opportunity to vape that summer break provides. When returning to school, some students may experience withdraw or cravings that lead to their vaping in school.

See the last issue of the SAC Corner (linked at the bottom of this issue) for more information on what to do if your kiddo is vaping.

The short of it is, "wax" is a slang term for cannabis oil. Commonly referred to also as weed wax, dabbing, dabs, butane hash oil (BHO), shatter, black glass, amber, nectar, or 710. This form is highly potent and can lead to loss of consciousness, hallucinations, and worse.

Go Be Bad At Something Go Be Bad At Something

“It’s a little insulting to people who have spent years and years of their lives acquiring skills to think that you should have those overnight,” says Ms. Schulz, of Los Alamos, N.M.

The linked article (click the title) also appeared in the Wall Street Journal. Detailing how it can actually be beneficial to allow yourself to regularly engage in something you aren't good at. From 1989-2016 the average levels of social perfectionism in college students has increased by a third. Imagine that level of anxiety, fear, or stress?
