Blazer Bulletin for October 2-6

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Hello Blazer Nation,
We have just wrapped up another busy week on the Trail, and I hope that each and everyone is in good health and doing well. Please remember that this week and next week will be a shortened week for you students with Friday being a professional learning day for staff and Monday being a staff & student holiday.
Additionally, please take a moment and ensure that you are informed of the altered schedule for Wednesday due to PSAT testing.
PSAT - this Wednesday October 4
All FISD 10th and 11th grade students are automatically registered to take the PSAT/NMSQT, free of charge, during the school day on October 4, 2023.

All FISD 9th and 12th grade students will have late arrival and report to campus at 12:45pm. There are no 1st or 2nd period classes on high school campuses or at the CTE Center

Student Consequences for Being Under the Influence
Did you know that off-campus school events like football games at Toyota Stadium or the Ford Center at the Star are treated the same as school property for discipline? If your student arrives at a FISD event on campus or off campus in possession of a prohibited item (alcohol, vape, etc.) or under the influence, they are subject to school disciplinary processes.
Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code mandates the placement of a student at an alternative educational setting who is found selling, giving, delivering, possessing, using, being under the influence of, or committing a serious act or offense while under the influence of alcohol or THC, on or at a school-related activity.
Please strongly encourage your students to refrain from engaging in these illegal activities.
Lifeguard
Interested in becoming a lifeguard? Frisco ISD Natatorium will be hosting a reduced cost lifeguard certification class on October 14-15. You do NOT need to be a swim team member to be a lifeguard or have your lifeguard class at a reduced cost. ANYONE can fill out the form. Please know that the due date is only about a week and a half from now, so you don't have a lot of time to procrastinate. If they have any questions, reach out to Coach Andrew Stewart at Stewartan@friscoisd.org. Fill out this Google Form if interested: https://forms.gle/tPdm3tLNnQsqC1Lw5
