READING CONNECTIONS

Here is information and the schedule for the staff and volunteers who work together in your school's library. Please let us know how we can support the love of reading in your classroom.

Check out your school's library page, Destiny Discover. You can browse recently added books and popular titles. You can search by topic or for a specific title or author. Every K - 6 teacher is able to login to Destiny Discover. Let your library staff know if you need help.

Libraries 360 (through LaPorte County Public LIbrary) has gone cardless this year. Every student, grade 6 - 12, has been given a new barcode for requesting books from the public library. Library staff will work to get all students logged in with their new barcodes sometime in September/October. Go to the "Learning Place" page on the MCAS website to access your school's L360 page. Teacher accounts for L360 remain the same. Contact Gwen Hudson if you need your teacher login information.

Use Accelerated Reader (AR) for a quick check on students' reading completion. A link for AR can be found on the "Learning Place" page with the name" Renaissance Learning" . Our access to AR is subscription-based, so almost all books have student reading practice quizzes. We can also create custom quizzes in AR. Contact library staff if you need help getting students logged into AR.
