CES Weekly Communicator
Issue #14: November 17, 2023
Principal Corner
Thank you for allowing us another opportunity to have professional development in curriculum teams. All classroom teachers who teach math are working incredibly hard on developing engaging Number Corner lessons with our new adoption of Bridges. Related Arts teams were able to meet with colleagues across the district. Intervention Specialists worked on developing explicit teaching lesson plans. Our reading teachers are spending time on implementing language and phonic rich interventions in classrooms. We are also exploring science notebooks this entire year and connecting with the middle school teams so our students are prepared for the curriculum demands as students move up in grade levels. Being able to have time together learning allows us to be the best educators for your children and provide best practices within the classroom.
This week we also had a PTO meeting. Please read over the Little Caesars' Fundraiser information below. It is a great opportunity to create a family night while supporting Chapelfield. Also, please look out for future meetings. We will begin spending part of our time on topics that impact our students. For example, we will introduce our new math curriculum, talk about the science of reading, and give you some tips to avoid summer slide.
Finally, we were able to celebrate our PTO Read-A-Thon winners by going in a limo ride to Mod pizza. It was a great week and we are thankful for our supportive community.
We will not have a weekly communicator next week. Please enjoy your Thanksgiving and time off with your children. We are grateful for YOU and your partnership with us!
Sincerely,
Nikki Miller
Playground at the end of the day
If your child is a walker after school, they CANNOT stay on school grounds without parent supervision for safety reasons. If you are staying with your child, we ask that you actively supervise them. Thank you for your support.
