Thomas Community Newsletter
May 1, 2026
Dear TMS Community,
There is so much to celebrate both in and out of our classrooms with our current Timberwolves and our Wolfpack alumni!
- Yesterday, the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs held its annual scholarship breakfast, honoring TMS alumni who are now high school seniors with scholarships toward their college education. We are incredibly proud of these distinguished former Timberwolves!
- Last week at the District 25 Board of Education meeting, three TMS teams were recognized for their outstanding achievements in state competitions: 7th Grade Girls Volleyball, 8th Grade Girls Volleyball, and Wrestling. Way to go, student athletes!
- The District 25 Board of Education also approved the hiring of Kyle Mengarelli as an Associate Principal at TMS for the 2026-2027 school year. Welcome TMS alumni ~ Mr. Mengarelli!
- Congratulations to all of our All Stars who competed in the Special Olympics last weekend—we are so proud of your hard work and determination!
- Bravo to our talented cast and crew for 3 outstanding performances of High School Musical that packed the house last weekend. With over 60 students involved, along with tremendous parent support, we are grateful to everyone who helped bring this production to life.
- This coming week (May 4–8), the amazing TMS PTA will celebrate Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. Families are welcome to join in by sending a “staff shout-out” via email or a note—small gestures go a long way in showing appreciation for our dedicated staff.
- TMS student artists will be featured in the annual Arlington Heights Memorial Library Art Show from May 5–25. We encourage you to stop by and enjoy their incredible work!
- Looking ahead, our Pride of the Wolfpack annual assembly will take place on Wednesday, May 13. We are excited to recognize current students and staff, along with inspiring alumni who are making a difference in our community and beyond. More information will be shared soon.
On another note, we are asking for your continued support. Even with cooler temperatures, spring energy is in full swing. Please take a moment to talk with your middle schooler about expected school behavior, what it means to Be the Good, and the importance of arriving to school and class on time. We are grateful for your partnership in supporting the Wolfpack!
