Attention Current 8th Graders ONLY!!!!!!!!!
High School Scheduling Information:
We are midway through the year, which means it is time for our 8th graders to start planning for high school! If you were not able to attend the high school’s parent information night, I have included links to each of the presentations below. I also want to share a few upcoming dates with everyone so that you can keep on top of what going on 😊.
February 14th: Early College acceptance letters are sent out to parents.
February 26th: Deadline for students to accept Early College invitation.
February 28th and March 3rd: Middle school counselors visit 8th grade language arts classes to present ‘High School 101’. This presentation is geared towards helping students prepare for high school. We cover a lot of topics, including block scheduling, diploma options, graduation requirements, elective pathways, credits, post-secondary options and much more!
March 4th: Counselors and administrators from the high school will visit 8th grade science classes to hand out scheduling forms to students and help them get started with selecting classes. Each student’s form will include their course recommendations for freshman year. Students must have their scheduling forms signed by a parent before they can turn them in. More info will be shared as we get closer to the actual date.
March 14th: High school counselors will come back to MSC for one-on-one meetings with their students. Each 8th grader will receive an appointment time to meet with their counselor for a 5-minute meeting in the media center. Counselors will use this time to make sure that student schedules are correct and to answer any questions that students may have.
