Maple Run Connection: Celebrating Music, Learning, and Community!
Happy Monday, Maple Run Community!
What a week it’s been across our schools! Last week we celebrated Music Appreciation Week, and it was wonderful to see students, staff, and families engaging with music in so many ways. Music isn’t just fun—it helps students build confidence, collaborate, express themselves, and tap into creativity. Thank you to everyone who made this week so meaningful.
Some highlights:
- BFA Rock Band Performance: On Thursday, our rock band A-319 took the stage at the BFA Performing Arts Center with bands from BFA, SATEC, SACS, and MVU. The energy and talent were incredible thank you to students, families, and staff for coming out to support this event!
- BFA Improv Fundraiser: Our BFA Improv team hosted a fundraiser at Twigg’s to support the Samaritan House. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and attended our students’ creativity and generosity were on full display.
- BFA One Act Play: Students brought the stage to life on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who helped make this performance possible!
- Spring Sports & Pawtastic Celebrations: Spring sports are underway! Friday’s Pawtastic celebrations at SATEC highlighted teamwork, fun, and school spirit.
- Central Office Monthly Celebration: Recognition and celebration happen at every level—thank you to our Central Office team for building connection and culture every day.
- NCTC Tech Engineering Day & Interview Day: Middle school students explored the programs NCTC offers, and our Interview Day at Collins Perley gave students a real-world glimpse at careers. A huge thank you to the local businesses who participated your support makes a difference! WCAX covered this event too.
This week, consider:
- Asking your child about something they loved during Music Appreciation Week.
- Celebrating both academic and creative accomplishments—big or small.
- Taking a moment to notice the ways students, staff, families, and community members contribute to our schools every day.
Thank you to every student, staff member, family, and community partner who made last week so special. Your support, energy, and care are what make Maple Run a place where learning, creativity, and community thrive. Let’s carry that energy into this week and keep celebrating one another!

Wellness Tip of the Week
Move to the Beat!
Music isn’t just fun, it’s good for your body and mind. This week, try using music to boost your energy, focus, and mood. Whether it’s dancing, tapping along to a favorite song, or listening while you work, music can help reduce stress, lift your spirits, and make tasks feel easier.
Practical Suggestions to Try This Week:
- Start with a tune: Pick a song that makes you smile or energizes you before starting a task.
- Move with music: Dance, sway, or march in place - even a few minutes can boost your mood and focus.
- Pair music with tasks: Background music can make chores, studying, or work projects more enjoyable.
- Reflect: At the end of the day, notice how music affected your energy, motivation, or stress levels.
Why It Matters:
Music connects us to our emotions, helps us focus, and brings joy to everyday life. Adding even a few minutes of music into your day supports wellness, creativity, and resilience values we celebrate across Maple Run.
2026–2027 Maple Run School Calendar
Attendance Matters
Last week, we shared the finalized 2026–2027 MRUSD school calendar with our families! We’re excited to provide this resource early so you can plan ahead for the year, whether it’s appointments, vacations, or other activities.
The calendar includes 177 student days, and we kindly ask families to consider these dates when scheduling events whenever possible. We understand that life happens and last-minute changes are sometimes unavoidable, but sharing the calendar now helps everyone plan and ensures students can be fully present for learning.
You can view the full calendar here: 2026–2027 MRUSD Calendar
School Board meetings are open to everyone, and we encourage families and community members to attend when they can. Agendas are posted the Friday before each meeting, which are typically held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
If you have any questions, ideas, or just want to connect, please reach out: TapIn@MapleRun.org
Thank you for helping us make the 2026–2027 school year a smooth, successful, and joyful experience for every student in Maple Run!
