Parent Information
Reminders:
- Be sure to bring your car rider and/or walker/biker signs every day to expedite the process. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
- Please ensure that your child has sneakers to wear daily to PE. This is for their safety and the safety of their peers. PE and Recess every day helps promote healthy, active child development.
- We have created a "Welcome" Mini Video Tour of our school to help student recognize our common areas and for parents to identify car rider and walker areas.
Safety for arrival and dismissal is a continuous focus and we have a few reminders to ensure safety for all students and staff as well as appropriate traffic patterns for our buses and car rider line.
- Walker/biker is an option for students who live within the neighborhood ONLY and therefore, do not qualify for bus services. It is a privilege and expectations must be followed.
- Students who "walk" to school are "walkers". Anyone arriving in a vehicle must join the car rider line.
- South Husky Walker parents: This includes parking on Granger Pines Way. Parking along the road an walking students across Granger Pines Way is unsafe and causes buses and vehicles to stop the flow of traffic.
- The "walker" option is for students who live in the immediate school area that do not qualify for bus services.
- Our arrival and dismissal options are: bus, walker, or car rider only.
- For car rider arrival, we use TWO lanes and zipper merge into one at the cones near the flagpole. This helps keep traffic on Granger Pines Way and 3083 to a minimum and keeps the flow of traffic moving.
- For car rider dismissal, our scanning staff scans in a "flight" order as vehicles arrive. It is important for you to remain in the order you arrived and were scanned. When vehicles switch lanes, it slows down the car rider pick up process.
- Instructional time ends at 3:10 daily. This means we will begin escorting students to cars and buses around 3:15. Walkers are released as soon as all grade levels arrive.
Grandparent's Day Update for 9/5
- This information is included in our Parent Guidelines, Parent Grade Level Newsletters, and is available in a QR on our Year-At-A-Glance magnet and "Welcome Husky" brochure sent home with every student at Meet the Teacher/first day of school.
- This event (9/5/25) is designed for 1-2 grandparents to eat lunch with their grandchild in the parent area during the designated grade level time. The times are included on the flier.
As instruction and regular lunch periods will continue for our entire school through out the event, we are limited on space for the lunch visits.
- Check the SignUp Genius and sign up in an available spot. If all spots are full, please make arrangements for another date. On non-event days, space is limited to FIVE visitors per grade level per day. For this event, we increased the number of tables and sign up slots to TWENTY total visitors.
- Grandparents are welcome to sign up for another day, check in at the front office, and eat lunch with their grandchild. They must be listed on the child's guardian information.
- If an adult is signed up to attend multiple lunch periods, you will be asked to return to the front office/entry area to wait between lunch periods while students transition and staff cleans the parent area.
From our Parent Guidelines:
Campus Visitors:
For scheduled meetings & lunch reservations, parents will check-in at the front desk with a valid ID. All visitors must wear a campus badge with the date and time stamp throughout the duration of the campus visit. These are obtained from the front office check-in process.
Lunch Reservations are available at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0F4CACAA2FA1F49-hope
All visitors must check out at the front office before leaving and will leave their badge with the receptionist.
Grandparent's Day: Date Added for Monday, September 8
- We will set the tables up in the same manner pictured below and grandparents are welcome to reserve a lunch spot in the SignUp Genius.
- Please sign up for only one date to allow other grandparents a time to visit.
- Grandparents (listed on the child's guardian list) are welcome to sign up to eat with their grandchild any day.
Thank you for being excited to celebrate with your grandchildren at Hope!
Parent Area for 9/5 or 9/8
Our normal parent area includes one table. The space pictured above includes four tables which fills the available space. We designed this event to allow a time and space for grandparents to eat with their child at school and want to ensure clarity of the physical limitations for the event.
Again, grandparents are welcome to sign up at enjoy lunch with their child on another day.

Parents, this month is Suicide Awareness Month. In order to help bring awareness, we are implementing the R U OK? program at Hope. This program focuses on kids' mental health by asking each other “Are You Ok?”. The students will be focusing on how to listen to each other and provide support for one another. In addition, they will learn about ways to ask, who to ask, and who they can go to if they need help.

Ten Commandments Update
The State of Texas passed Senate Bill 10 that requires the posting of the 10 Commandments in all classrooms. Even though lawsuits have been filed regarding the posting and an injunction has been issued for specific school districts we are required by law to post them. As of September 2, our classrooms will comply with law and have the 10 Commandments posted in all classrooms. We understand that this is a controversial topic for many. Please know that the teacher, school and district have no opinion on this topic. It is a law passed by the Texas 89th Legislature and signed by the Governor and we are required to comply. Thank you for your understanding.
