PSSA Dates & Information
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires all school districts to administer PSSA testing for the 2025-2026 school year. In addition, beginning this year, school districts are required to administer PSSA testing online for all students.
The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment is aligned with the PA Standards. The English Language Arts and Mathematics PSSAs are administered in grades 3rd through 8th and the Science PSSA is administered in grade 5 and grade 8.
Students learn all skills, concepts, and content necessary to take the assessment within their daily reading, writing, mathematics, and science instruction. These assessments are critically important; please encourage your child to do their best. The results will be one of the measures we use as we make curricular updates and revisions. Individual performance will be one of the factors we consider when determining which students need additional support or enrichment. The data will help the district plan support for students who are not meeting the expectation of proficiency on the exam.
Throughout the district, we are utilizing some of our scheduled WIN time to help students develop an understanding of the online platform and testing tools available to them during the testing window.
A parent/guardian may choose to exempt their child from participating in the exam(s) if the tested content is found to conflict with their religious beliefs as per PA Code 22, Chapter 4.4. To exclude your child from taking one or more Keystone Exam(s), a parent/guardian must complete the following actions required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
1. Email the School Assessment Coordinator by April 17th, 2026. For our school, please e-mail Mrs. Snyder (jsnyder@cbsd.org) to request an appointment to view the exam(s) to determine if they conflict with your religious beliefs.
2. Report to school at the appointed time and sign the Pennsylvania Department of Educationβs Confidentiality Agreement prior to viewing the exams.
3. Write a letter to the Superintendent of Schools for Central Bucks School District, Dr. Charles Malone, stating the specific exam(s) you want your child exempt from for religious reasons. Submit the letter to Mr. Ortman (sortman@cbsd.org) or Mrs. Snyder (jsnyder@cbsd.org) .
Sincerely,
Shawn Ortman, Principal
Jennifer Snyder, Assistant Principal
All exempt requests must be submitted by April 17th, 2026.
Requests cannot be accepted once testing has started.
The district is continuing to offer free breakfast.
The lunch cost for the 2025-2026 school year is: $2.85
Don't forget to sign up for MySchoolBucks to add money to your student's lunch account.
Visit MySchoolBucks.com
- Set up recurring payments.
- Create low balance alerts.
- Track and review what your student is purchasing.
CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not. You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here. To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.
