Academics Academics

German II
The German II class celebrated culture and language with their annual Oktoberfest party. Students enjoyed traditional German foods like pretzels, sausages, mustards, and cake while singing along to German music. This lively event gave students the chance to practice their language skills in a real-world setting and develop a deeper appreciation for German customs, heritage, and the world-famous Oktoberfest held in Munich, Germany.

Mrs. McPherson's English IV Class

To introduce a unit on The Canterbury Tales, Mrs. McPherson took her class through a simulation about the Black Plague. Each student was randomly assigned a role within a medieval village and had to gather resources based on their social standing in the feudal system. Through this activity, students quickly discovered that peasants struggled to meet their basic needs, while the upper nobility enjoyed access to nearly everything they desired. In the end, around 59% of the students "contracted" the Black Plague.

Business & Marketing

The Business & Marketing class has been hard at work running their own beverage venture, serving up iced coffees, hot chocolates, and a variety of creative dirty sodas. To celebrate the season, students designed a limited-time spooky menu featuring themed drinks and specialty items. This hands-on project allowed them to apply marketing strategies, practice customer service, and explore the creative side of business management—all while keeping their classmates refreshed and energized. They are open every Wednesday-Friday. Golden Grounds is closed during 2nd lunch and 6th period.
