"Encourage one another and build each other up ..."
1 Thessalonians 5:11
This week passed by in a festive blur! From our Christmas Spirit Week (Thank you, Student Council!), to our Christmas Sing, to our amazing class party, this was definitely a week for the books. I loved to see and hear all the Christmas cheer!
This week, we managed to get some learning in, with an emphasis on our State Report. I am so amazed by the work this class has managed to get done on these projects. They are paying close attention to due dates, working hard, and writing some great research paragraphs! Keep it up, 5th grade! In Math, we continued to work with adding and subtracting fractions. This is super tricky with having to find common denominators, and encouraging simplification. It is a long topic, and we will finish it off, review, and take our test when we return. In Reading this week, we focused on argumentative texts, and recognized the importance of acknowledging another's perspective before arguing your own.
When we return from break on Monday, January 5, we will start the next chapter of our State Reports, "Things to See and Do," which many students have already finished researching. We will also begin our new SciTrek module, all about chromatography. This is one of my favorite ones, and I hope the class enjoys it as well!
THANK YOU!
