A single candle...
At SRC, we move forward with the understanding that our strength isn't something we have to hold off on, but something we multiply. There is a truth that thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. This is how we have each other’s backs. We recognize that when one of us shares a spark of encouragement, a moment of support, or a helping hand, we don't lose anything of ourselves—instead, the entire path becomes brighter for everyone. We are a community built on the idea that no one has to shine alone. By showing up for one another and sharing our light, we ensure that the way is always clear for our students to follow."

🏀 THANK YOU, Pinnacle Bank! 🤼
Throughout the winter season, we’ve been tracking every three-pointer and every pin—and those efforts paid off! We are so grateful for these donated funds, which go directly back into supporting our students and our community.
Congratulations to our teams on a great season, and thank you again, Pinnacle Bank!

Thank you!
A huge thank you to Investigator McCracken from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for spending time with our High School Forensic Science students recently!
Great Insight
It’s one thing to read about crime scene processing in a textbook, but hearing Investigator McCracken share her firsthand experiences brings the curriculum to life in a way only a professional can. Our students were captivated by her insights into the dedication and detail required in the field.
Beyond the Classroom
The partnership doesn't stop at the classroom door! Through our incredible collaboration with CCC, students enrolled in our Criminal Justice courses are also being offered ride-along opportunities with the Sheriff's Office.
This hands-on exposure is invaluable for those looking to pursue careers in public safety and law enforcement. We are so grateful to Investigator McCracken and the entire Polk County Sheriff’s Office for investing in the next generation of professionals!

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Be the first Candle...
Good morning!
I love NEBRASKA WEATHER!!! Nothing like wearing shorts and enjoying the 70 degree day and then hit the weekend with freeze warnings and wondering if the sprinkler system will make it! I hope you are having a great weekend! Congratulations to our FBLA students who qualified for Nationals!!! and also to Mrs. Jensen & Ms. Thompson for sponsoring/chaperoning! Also, shoutout to Mrs. Wilton & Mr. Nissen for middle school speech! I am able to watch my oldest but I am impressed with all of our students taking the chance to try it out!
At SRC, we move with the understanding that our greatest resource isn’t found in a budget or a building, but in the spirit & culture we bring to one another. We often view our energy as a finite battery—something that drains as we give—but kindness and happiness operate by a different set of physics entirely. There is a timeless wisdom in the truth that thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
When we choose to lead with grace and offer our support, we aren't losing a part of ourselves; we are participating in an act of multiplication. One person’s patience can calm a hallway, one person’s smile can change a person's day, and one person’s encouragement can lift a colleague’s spirit. By sharing our light, we don't just brighten the room for others; we ensure that we never have to work, lead, or live in the dark ourselves.
This is the true essence of having each other’s back—a practice that doesn't end when the school bell rings, but ripples out into our homes, our communities, and our lives. When we carry this flame outside these walls, we become the neighbors who help, the friends who listen, and the citizens who build up rather than tear down. In this pursuit, we also pledge to protect the flames of those around us, recognizing that we never need to dim someone else’s light in order for our own to shine brighter. We rise furthest when we ensure that every individual’s spark is respected and every person’s glow is given the space to grow.
Let’s be a community that doesn’t just teach and work, but one that glows, reminding every person we encounter—within this building or out in the world—that they are seen, they are supported, and they are never walking alone.
Have a great rest of your week!
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
