Note from Administration
Hello A. Montoya Families,
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement plays a vital role in our students’ success, and we truly appreciate all you do to help make our school community strong.
As we prepare for a successful end to the year, please take some time to review the upcoming calendar of events. There are many important activities and celebrations planned, and we want to ensure you don’t miss out. Additionally, please note that some after-school programs are beginning to wrap up for the year, so be sure to check the schedule for any updates or changes.
We also encourage you to look over the information regarding summer reading opportunities for students who are interested. Staying engaged in reading over the summer is a great way to support continued growth and learning.
Thank you again for your support in helping us finish the school year strong. We look forward to celebrating these final weeks with our students and families.
With appreciation,

Visitors and Volunteers
Visitors:
As we approach the end of the school year, we’re excited to host a variety of activities and events across campus. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please note that all visitors must present a valid government-issued ID in order to receive a visitor pass upon arrival. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
Volunteering: If you are volunteering it is required that you have one of two types of background checks:
Supervised allows you to volunteer within in the classroom while the teacher can monitor you.
Unsupervised allows you to attend field trips, work in the teacher workroom, etc. Please see the attached form if you are interested in being a parent volunteer.
If you have a background check please be sure to email a copy of the documentation to our clerk, Kristin Bunnel at kristin.bunnel@aps.edu, so we can update our records.
Nurse's Office
End of Year Reminders from the School Nurse
As the school year draws to a close, here are some important health office reminders:
Medication Pick-Up: Please ensure that all student medications are picked up from the health office by May 28. Any medications left after this date will be disposed of according to school policy.
Updated Provider Orders: If your child requires medication or has a health condition that needs to be managed at school for the upcoming school year, please contact your child's healthcare provider to obtain updated medication orders and/or care plans. These should be submitted to the school nurse prior to the start of the new school year. Forms are available in the Health office or on the school website if needed.
Immunizations: Please check your child's immunization records. It's important that all students are up-to-date on their required vaccinations. If your child has any past-due immunizations, please schedule an appointment with their healthcare provider as soon as possible. If you are choosing to exempt your child from the school required immunizations you must fill out the appropriate form which you may pick up in the health office and have it approved by the DOH. These all need to be submitted to the school nurse by the beginning of the next school year.
Please reach out to the health office if you need assistance with any of these items or if there are any other needs you may have.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of all our students. Have a fun-filled summer, and don’t forget the sunscreen! Can’t wait to see everyone in August.
