PSAT scores

Scores for the PSAT-related assessments are now available in the BigFuture® School mobile app. The app is part of the SAT Suite and gives students an easier and secure way to view their scores and connect their academic strengths to college and career possibilities.

Students who view their scores on BigFuture School can:

  • View their Career Insights Snapshot, which shows examples of growing careers in their state that align with their academic skills.
  • Update their college preferences to personalize their app experience with options that fit their goals.
  • Discover colleges through the new College Match feature that align with their interests and are interested in students like them. Only available if a student is opted in to Connections™ (when available). PSAT™ 8/9 test takers aren’t eligible.

If you took the PSAT or SAT . . . ever . . .

Students can access their detailed AP Potential recommendations. Students age 13 or older can visit the student score report portal to find this information.

* AP Potential identifies AP courses that the College Board feels you would be successful in based on compiled testing data. It is an AMAZING resource to help guide course selection in conjunction with your own interests and other factors.

Solve for Tomorrow - STEM competition

Each year Samsung hosts a $2 million national competition for public schools grades 6–12 in which students are asked to consider how science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) can be used to create change in their communities. With the help of their teachers, students can apply to the contest and compete to win up to $100,000 in prizes for their school, plus the opportunity to work with Samsung employees to develop their prototypes.

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest is now open. Application submissions will close on November 24. Any teacher can apply and win big! At this point in the contest, you do not need a perfected idea or complete solution. Simply identify the problem you and your students would like to tackle and your proposed solution that uses STEM to solve it. (I'm willing to serve as your teacher of record if needed.)

Go to https://www.samsung.com/us/solvefortomorrow/ to learn more. You can also give a listen to the dailySTEM podcast to hear directly from teachers and Samsung leadership about the competition. You can hear from Solve for Tomorrow Alumni and STEM teacher, Kevin Lay and Senior Director of Corporate Citizenship at Samsung, Ann Woo.

Who? Grades 9-11

What is it? The Carson Scholarship fund gives 500 scholarships a year to students in grades 4-11. More information at carsonscholars.org

Scholarship Amount? $1000 (payable upon entrance to a 4 yr college/university)

Do you qualify? You must have a weighted GPA of 3.75 (only counting English, Math, Science & Social Studies classes)

  2. Essay responding to one of these two prompts for grades 9-11: (650-750 words)

    • Back to 1996: A Time Travel Adventure! - Imagine being transported to the year 1996 when the first Carson Scholarships were awarded. How would your academic and social life differ in a world without smartphones, social media, or modern learning tools?
