Bogota Middle School Update
May 30, 2025
Essentials
Even though it was a short week, it was certainly a full one for our students!
-
7th Grade High School Visit: Yesterday, our 7th-grade students had the opportunity to visit the high school, meet some of their future teachers, and get a feel for the building. It was a great step in preparing them for the transition. A full high school orientation will take place at the end of August—please be on the lookout for more information from the high school.
Incoming 7th Grade Locks Reminder: All current 6th grade students $10 lock payments and signed slips are due by Tuesday, June 3. Ms. Demetrakis and Ms. Smith/Ms. Mantione's homerooms are currently tied for first place with the most money and signed forms handed in. Please see Mrs. Schwind in room 204 to submit your payment!
-
Upcoming Trips & Events: We have several trips and events approaching quickly. Please check your email regularly for important updates from your child’s teachers, especially regarding permission slips and required forms. Important Dates are listed in the bottom section of this update.
-
Finishing Strong: As we near the end of the school year, it's easy for students to lose focus. Please remind them of the importance of finishing strong and staying on top of their assignments to ensure their 4th marking period grades reflect their best effort.
-
Summer School & Retention Notices: Notices for students required to attend summer school will be sent out shortly. Families of students being retained will also be contacted directly.
-
Important Date Change – Sports Awards: Please note that the Middle School Sports Award Ceremony has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:00 PM in the High School Gym.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or email. Thank you for your continued support as we wrap up the school year.
