October 23rd Grade 5 Assembly Program: Dr. Matt Bellace
Dr. Matt Bellace is a clinical psychologist, author, and comedian who brings humor, energy, and positive messages to audiences all across America. His work encourages students to build resilience, handle challenges, make healthy choices, and find positive ways to manage stress and disappointment.
Dr. Bellace holds a Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology, the study of the connection between the brain and behavior. He has written several books, contributed to National Geographic Kids, and has shared his message with audiences of all ages.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Bellace to our school for a fun and engaging experience that encourages our students to laugh, learn, and build positive strategies for handling everyday challenges!
It's Important to Hydrate
Students are reporting to the nurse's office with headaches and we are finding that they are dehydrated. Please be reminded that we have multiple water refill stations in the school for student use. They are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle so that they can access water during the day.
Counseling Services Available
The Jackson School District is excited to share Marble Health as an additional mental health resource for students and families. Marble provides virtual therapy with licensed therapists, including individual, group, and family therapy. Appointments are typically available within four days with no waitlists, and Marble accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid. Their therapists have experience working specifically with students and families and can provide support for concerns such as anxiety, school avoidance, bullying, stress, and other social-emotional challenges.
