BULLDOG BULLETIN
November 21, 2024
Sarah Adams Families,
Our Bulldog Bulletin is coming to you a day early, as an added reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are today and Monday, 11/25. We are excited to meet with you! Each conference is 15 minutes long to ensure every family has the opportunity to connect with their child’s teacher. We kindly ask for your understanding in keeping to the time allotted. Please note that Monday, November 25, is also an early release day, so students will be dismissed at 12:50.
Just like last year, throughout this school year buddy classrooms will collaborate on a community service project. We are so proud of our 5th and 2nd-grade students, who have partnered for our first community service project this year! Together, they are collecting non-perishable food items for our local food pantry to support families in need during the holiday season. If you’d like to contribute, feel free to bring a donation with you when you come for your conference. Donations can be dropped off near the front office and will go through Monday, 11/25.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible partnership we share with you. It is a privilege to work with such a supportive and engaged parent community. Your collaboration strengthens our efforts to provide the best possible education for your children. I am also thankful for our amazing staff, whose dedication and leadership create a nurturing environment for learning and growth, and for our students, whose kindness, curiosity, and positive spirit brighten our school every day!
From all of us here at Sarah Adams, we wish you and your loved ones a very happy Thanksgiving filled with joy and gratitude.
Fondly,
Dr. Colleen Conway

Text Messages
This message has been sent via email and text message. If you did NOT receive a corresponding text message, please email me directly, at Colleen.Conway@lz95.org, so that I can make sure you receive communications in all available forms.
Safety Reminder
We kindly remind all parents and caregivers to please drive carefully and follow speed limits on school property and in the surrounding neighborhood. Many of our students walk, ride bikes, or use scooters to get to and from school, and their safety is our top priority.
Please be mindful of crosswalks, follow posted speed limits, and avoid distractions such as cell phones while driving. This is especially important during busy times before and after school. Together, we can ensure that everyone gets to school and home safely.
Doctor Notes
It seems like our cold and flu season has come sooner than expected this year! If your child is out sick and has a doctor's note, please send the documentation to our school nurse, the classroom teacher, and your child's PE teacher:
- Autumn Wallin, School nurse: Autumn.Wallin@lz95.org
- Lisa LePage, PE teacher: Lisa.LePage@lz95.org
- Nick Georgeson, PE Teacher: Nick.Georgeson@lz95.org
This extra communication is helpful to make sure we accommodate any needs.
Important Health Information
As we head into the cold and flu season, we wanted to share some helpful tips for staying healthy and ways to help decrease the spread of germs:
Kids should stay hydrated and eat breakfast (either at home or at school)
Kids should get plenty of sleep and be well rested for the school day
Kids should wash hands on a regular basis before and after eating, when they are dirty, or after sneezing/blowing their nose
Remind kids to cover coughs and sneezes with tissue or an elbow
As a reminder, students with a fever of 100.4 or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, or other significant symptoms (i.e., persistent cough, body aches) should be kept home from school. Additionally, please see the notes below:
Students must be free from fever, vomiting, and diarrhea symptoms without the use of medication for at least 24 hours before returning to school
For students with an illness that requires antibiotics (such as strep throat), students must be on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning to school
Thank you for your partnership as we all work together to decrease the spread of illness in school!

Sip 'n Chat
This year, in conjunction with the District 95 Board of Education and administration, the Superintendent has started a new initiative called “Sip ‘n Chat” where up to two Board members, one or more administrators, and Dr. Gallt will be available at various locations in the community for people to drop in for conversations relating to our school district. Key administrators will also be on hand as subject matter experts in particular areas, but discussions are not restricted to only that topic. The hope is to have room for up to 20-25 people at one time, though it is also fine to come and go – please consider stopping by for a cup of coffee and a chat! The next Sip ‘n Chat dates are listed below:
