MTMS Wolf Wire
September 12, 2025
MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
A BIG thank you to our students for making sure that they park their bikes and scooters in the bike racks!
Parents and students please have conversations about scooter and bike safety when traveling to and from school. We are noticing that when students come to an intersection that some of our students are not stopping or checking to make sure that there are not any cars coming. This is also happening at the traffic light near the entrance to MT, students are not waiting for the walk sign. Students - please remember that if you are traveling on the sidewalk, even if you are on a bike or scooter, that you need to follow the same traffic rules. Cross at crosswalks, check for traffic before crossing the street, and wait for the walk sign at traffic lights. We want to make sure our students are safe coming to and leaving school.

School Fees Now Available to Pay
With the transition to Skyward Q, posting of school fees was delayed until after the year began. Fees have now been posted and are available to pay several different ways - either in-person with cash or check or online through e-Funds (step-by-step guide is attached). If you would like to discuss fees or set up a payment plan, please contact the office and we'll be happy to work with you. Thank you for supporting our school and your student's learning!
All student athletes are required to pay the Catastrophic Insurance fee of $7.63 as part of their student fees. This fee is required by the district regardless of personal health insurance coverage. If you have not already done so, please make sure this fee has been paid ASAP so that your student's ability to compete is not affected.
Parent Teacher Conferences - September 24 and September 25
Parent teacher conferences are quickly approaching. Here are some details regarding parent teacher conferences. Look for more information from your team.
September 24 - Conferences from 4:00pm - 7:30pm - Open walk-in conferences
September 25 - Conferences from 9:30am - 4:00pm - By appointment only
Dinner break from 4:00pm - 5:00pm - Teachers not available
September 25 - Conferences from 5:00pm - 8:00pm - Open walk-in conferences
Grade Syncing Issues
With the transition to Skyward Q, there have been reported syncing issues with Canvas and students' grades being updated. Rest assured these issues are being addressed, but if you notice grade concerns or missing work and your student is reporting to you that assignments were completed, it's possibly related to these syncing issues. Conferences next week would be a great time to discuss any grade concerns with your student's teachers!
MT Conditioning Program Starts Soon
The MT Conditioning Program is for any student (6th-8th grade) wanting to work on their strength and conditioning. Students meet after school from 3:15-3:35. See our website for more information and to download the information packet, including the signed parent permission slip and Voluntary Participation form that are required before students will be allowed to participate. Students may return the two forms to Coach Webb or the MT Office.
StuCo Fall Food Drive
Our food drive for the De Soto Food Pantry is off to a slow start. After one week, we are at just 78 items. Help us meet our school goal and provide for an essential community need by giving. The final day to donate is Friday, September 19.
The more generous we are as a school, the more fun events we can enjoy:
1,000 items = Pajama day
2,000 items = Hat day
3,000 items = Early release day (11:07 on 9/24)
4,000 items = Free seating during lunch
5,000 items = Lunch outside
Let's have fun and help meet an important need in our community!
MT is hiring! We have two (2!!) Resource para positions open at MT and we need your help! Please share with anyone you believe would be a good fit! This is also a great opportunity to work similar hours if you have a student here or close by! Feel free to contact the main office for more information.

Happenings In Engineering Technology
Orchestra
MT is excited to launch orchestra this year! Students are learning and having fun with their new instruments!
8th Explorers Social Studies
Mr. Schaffer's classes participated in 2 interactive learning games this week!
The first game was revolutionary war capture the flag. Conditions in the game changed where red team (British) realized it’s a waste of time to continue because blue team (American) only has to defend flag and eventually have white team ( France) outnumber them.
Game 2 was recreation of Bunker Hill via dodgeball. Top of hill America, bottom British. British team learns fighting uphill difficult. British only wins game because American team runs out of ammo and has to run away.
Student Athlete Fees & Registration
All student athletes are required to pay the Catastrophic Insurance fee of $7.63 as part of their student fees. This fee is required by the district regardless of personal health insurance coverage. If you have not already done so, please make sure this fee has been paid so that your student's ability to compete is not affected.
Student Registration is now LIVE on Student Skyward Accounts. Please have your student athlete log in as soon as possible and complete this important step. Look for the green tile on the home screen!
