🚗The colder weather recently means we've had more cars in our carpool lines. Please remember to be courteous of other drivers as you are dropping off or picking up your child.

• There are two carpool lanes at Hays - one in the front and one in the back. Follow the flow of traffic in these lanes.
• Parking lots are reserved for those who are parking and coming into the building with a purpose. Students should not be dropped off or picked up in parking lots as this creates unnecessary delays in the flow of the carpool as well as a potential hazard as students cross through traffic.
• The lane and lot by the gyms (south side of the building) are reserved for buses.
• Do not stop and let your kids out on Hillcrest Road. This causes traffic congestion as well as a serious safety concern.

• The t-shirts are here! Stop by Mrs. Hines's room (#2222) to pick up your shirt as soon as possible. A limited number of extra shirts are available for purchase—bring cash or a check made out to Prosper ISD if you’re interested.
• Mark your calendars: Our first meet will take place right here at Hays on February 22. Let’s get ready to shine!
• We are excited to announce that 60 eighth grade ELAR students have been selected to have their poems published by Creative Communication in an anthology. They will have the opportunity to see their work in print! We are so proud of them!

You've possibly noticed that our outdoor marquee is not currently working. We apologize for the lapse in timely announcements out front. As a result of the technical difficulties, we've missed posting several birthdays! Until the marquee is back up and running, birthday shout-outs purchased through PTO will be highlighted on the TV screens inside the school and in our newsletter. We hope to have relevant content back on the outdoor marquee very soon!

If your 8th grader is interested in Speech and Debate, join district leaders and coaches for an important informative meeting about the program, requirements, and the class. Information crucial to making the important decision to be a part of this life improving activity will be provided.

Monday, January 27, 2025 - Rock Hill High School Cafeteria - 6:00 p.m.

Current 5th - 7th graders who are interested in joining an orchestra or band must attend an instrument screening/fitting session. This site contains all of that information and links to sign up for a 1 on 1 session with a Prosper ISD band or orchestra director.

High school students from Rock Hill, and others across the US are hosting free online coding camps for middle school students. They offer Introductory Python, Intermediate Python, Introductory Machine Learning, Project-Based Machine Learning, and Introductory Web Development with more programs planned, and their past programs have achieved 1,500+ enrollments throughout the country with hundreds of positive reviews. These programs usually meet biweekly for two to three weeks for one-hour classes. More information on dates can be found on their flyer and their website, and the enrollment form is linked here.
