  • Small Movement Makes a Big Difference

Children and teens feel their best when they stay active. Movement helps improve mood, sleep, focus, heart health, and energy levels, and it doesn’t have to mean organized sports or a gym membership.

    Easy Ways to Get Moving

    • Take a family walk after dinner
    • Ride bikes around the neighborhood
    • Play tag or flashlight hide-and-seek
    • Visit a local park or trail
    • Turn on music and have a dance break
    • Stretch or do yoga together

    Family Challenge

Create a “Movement Jar” filled with activity ideas. Let a family member choose one each day!

    Quick Reminder

Experts recommend children get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day, but every bit of movement counts.

    • Create screen-free meal times
    • Encourage outdoor play before gaming
    • Schedule family tech-free evenings

    ✔ Reading
    ✔ Family connection
    ✔ Creative play

    Conversation Starter

    Ask your child:

“What is something fun you want to do this summer away from screens?”

    Emotional Wellness During Summer

Summer can bring excitement, but changes in routines can sometimes feel stressful for children and teens.

    Encourage Mental Wellness By:

    • Keeping simple routines
    • Talking together regularly
    • Encouraging creativity and play
    • Allowing time for rest
    • Practicing gratitude
