From the Principal From the Principal

This is how we Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy! Our little Panther Cubs are learning to ROAR with pride and how “we do school”!

🐾 Week 10 at Luce Road

We’ve made it to Week Ten, and our Panther Cubs had an exciting week full of adventure! Every day, we see them ROAR with confidence as they grow in both learning and character. 📚💙

🧠 Learning at Luce Road

At Luce Road, we want every child to know exactly what they’re learning and why it matters.

  • “I Can” Statements: Each day, teachers share clear learning goals with students in kid-friendly language (for example, “I can read sight words”). This helps children take ownership of their learning.

  • Small Group Time: Students work in small groups to build important reading and math skills that match their individual learning needs.

  • Deep Thinking: Through programs like Bookworms (reading) and Bridges (math), teachers use purposeful questions to help students think more deeply and explain their ideas.

🖐️ Safe Hands & Responsibility

This week, we continued to talk about Safe Hands and what it means to be responsible. Safe hands mean we use our hands for helping, sharing, playing, and caring. We don’t use our hands for hurting. pushing or hitting. When we use safe hands, we keep our friends, teachers, and school feeling calm and cared for.

This month, we’re also learning about Responsibility—taking action and understanding how our choices affect others.
Being responsible looks like:

  • Taking care of toys and materials

  • Cleaning up after yourself

  • Listening to directions

  • Using kind words

  • Trying your best

🌟 Responsibility Challenge
Each class will nominate a student at the end of the month who has shown outstanding responsibility. We can’t wait to celebrate their leadership!

💙 Where Little Panther Cubs Begin Big Journeys

At Luce Road, we’re so proud of the way our Cubs are growing into caring, curious, and confident learners. Week Nine shows we are well on our way to a year full of learning, laughter, and growth! 🐾✨

Panther Cub FALL FESTIVAL Panther Cub FALL FESTIVAL

🍂🎃✨ Fall Festival 🍂🎃✨

Please sign and return the form sent home from your student's teacher by Friday, October 24th. This will indicate the names of adults who plan to attend the Fall Festival. Even if an adult family member is not able to attend with your student, please return the form with that information. Having this information in advance helps us to plan for a successful event.

THE WEATHER IS CHANGING THE WEATHER IS CHANGING

Dressing for the Weather

🧥 Dress for the Weather

Please help your child come to school dressed for the changing fall weather. Our Panther Cubs go outside 3 to 4 times a day, and mornings can be chilly.

  • Check the weather each morning to help your child dress appropriately.

  • Send a jacket or hoodie and closed-toe shoes every day.

  • Students are expected to go outside each time, so being prepared helps them stay comfortable and focused.

  • Label all items with your child’s name so we can return lost items quickly.

Thank you for helping keep our Cubs comfy, safe, and ready to play all day long! 🐾

Important Notes to Parents Important Notes to Parents

🧡 Calling All Parent Volunteers!

We love having our Luce Road families be part of the fun! If you’re interested in volunteering at the school—whether it’s helping in classrooms, assisting with events, or supporting special projects—your time and enthusiasm make a huge difference.

Please reach out to the office or your child’s teacher to learn how you can get involved. Thank you for helping make Luce Road such a warm and supportive community for our students!

ID or Pick Up Line Tag

To pick up your child, please show your Pick Up Line Tag. If you do not have it, you must present a photo ID to the office staff. This is required every day, even if you forgot your tag.

For safety, please do not remove your child from the pick up line until a staff member dismisses them. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe.

Labeling Student Belongings

Parents and guardians, please label your Panther Cub’s belongings, including backpack, coat, lunch box, and water bottle. Our Lost and Found is filling up, and labeled items can be returned quickly. Thank you for your help!

Clothing

Please make sure you send a change of clothes in for your student. Sometimes accidents happen and it’s helpful for them to have a change of clothes.

Please make sure ALL of your student’s belongings are labeled with their name! If it gets lost, staff will know who to return it to!
