Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well and ready for some thrilling updates from our Physical Education program. We are delighted to share the details of the upcoming unit that your child will be participating in: Locomotive Movements and Cooperative Games!
This unit promises to be an engaging and enriching experience for your child, focusing on fundamental locomotive movements and fostering teamwork through cooperative games. Here's a glimpse of what your child can look forward to:
1. Exploring Locomotive Movements:
Locomotive movements are the foundation of physical activity, enabling children to move efficiently and effectively. During this unit, your child will have the opportunity to explore various locomotor skills such as running, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, and crawling. Through fun and interactive activities, they will enhance their coordination, balance, and agility.
2. Cooperative Games:
Cooperation and teamwork are essential skills that extend beyond the gymnasium walls. Our PE unit will introduce your child to a variety of cooperative games designed to promote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. These games will encourage your child to work together with their peers, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.
3. Physical Fitness and Well-being:
Physical education plays a crucial role in promoting the overall health and well-being of children. By engaging in locomotive movements and cooperative games, your child will not only improve their physical fitness but also develop important social and emotional skills. They will learn the value of perseverance, resilience, and positive interaction with others.
4. Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion:
Our PE program embraces diversity and celebrates the unique abilities of every child. Locomotive movements and cooperative games provide a platform for children of all backgrounds and abilities to participate and succeed. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
5. Parental Engagement:
We encourage you to actively engage with your child about their experiences in PE class. Ask them about the locomotive movements they learned and the cooperative games they played. Your involvement and encouragement can make a significant difference in reinforcing the importance of physical activity and teamwork.
We are excited to embark on this journey of exploration and discovery with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our PE department. Thank you for your continued support in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for your child.

Great job to all the classes that participated in the Malcolm Mitchell READBowl! It was so fun to share the joy of reading with kids around the world in a challenge for the most minutes read. Reading for pleasure is the BEST way to keep up those reading skills outside the normal school day. Keep up the great work Panthers!
