Discipline Procedures Update
At Westwood, students who violate school rules may be assigned after-school detention. Detentions are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:05–4:00 p.m. Students are given the opportunity to select the day that works best for them and their families.
If a student fails to attend detention on their chosen day, an additional detention may be assigned depending on the circumstances. Continued failure to serve detentions may result in the assignment of a Saturday detention. Failure to attend Saturday detention will result in suspension from school.
We appreciate your support in helping students take responsibility for their choices and meet their obligations. By working together, we can ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all.
Student Drivers
Parking Passes Required at Westwood High School
All students who drive to Westwood High School are required to have a valid parking pass displayed in their vehicle while on campus. Parking passes help us maintain a safe and organized parking lot for students, staff, and visitors.
If you need a parking pass, they are available in the main office, the cost is $2. Please ensure that the pass is properly displayed at all times while parked on school property. Vehicles without a visible pass may be subject to warnings or additional consequences.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our campus safe and orderly.
Student Drop off and Pick Up Reminder
When dropping students off in the morning, please be mindful of the buses, which begin arriving around 7:45 a.m. To ensure smooth traffic flow, keep the area in front of the WHS entrance clear so buses can pull through without obstruction.
In the afternoon, buses begin lining up at 3:00 p.m. For safety reasons, please do not wait along the curb in front of the school during dismissal. Instead, park in the lot and have your student walk to you.
Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and efficient system for students and drivers. Thank you for your continued support.
Event Information
September is Suicide Prevention Month
Every life matters. This month, we join communities across the nation to break the silence, support one another, and spread hope. Mental health challenges are real, and asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness.
If you or someone you know is struggling:
-
Talk to a friend, family member, teacher, or counselor.
-
Reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988, or chat online at 988lifeline.org).
-
Remember—you are not alone. There is help, and there is hope.
Together, we can look out for one another, listen without judgment, and make a difference. Let’s keep the conversation going and support those around us—this month and every month.
Student Handbook
We encourage both parents and students to read the student handbook carefully. It provides important information about school expectations, rules, and available resources, helping everyone understand their rights, responsibilities, and how to create a safe, respectful, and successful learning environment together. Click on the link below to access the WHS Student Handbook.
WHS Lunch Menu
The Lunch Menu are not posted yet. Once the school year starts, click on the picture for that month's lunch menu.
