Skyward Family Access and Absence Request Reminder
Dear Bearcat Parents:
As we communicated on August 11, Aledo ISD is transitioning to Skyward beginning this school year. As our district has continued to grow, we have outgrown the capabilities of our previous student information system, Ascender. Skyward is a trusted and widely used student information system utilized by school districts across Texas and the nation.
Skyward Family Access replaces the Ascender Parent Portal, providing parents and guardians with a convenient, secure way to stay connected to their child's attendance, schedules, grades, and more—all in one place. Please note that all student absence requests must also be submitted through Skyward Family Access beginning this school year.
Getting Started with Skyward
You should have received an email from no-reply@aledoisd.org on August 11th or 12th with the subject line "Family Access Account Information." This email will include your Skyward Family Access username and a link to create your password.
Set your password by clicking the link in the email.
Download the Skyward Mobile App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store using the links below.
Skyward for Android
Skyward for iPhone
You can also access from a PC using this link - https://bit.ly/AledoSkyward
Create a 4-digit PIN if prompted. You may choose any 4-digit PIN you would like to use for quick access to the Skyward mobile app.
When prompted to locate your organization, search for Aledo and select Aledo ISD from the search results.
Enter an account description when prompted. This can be anything you'd like (for example, "Aledo ISD" or "Family Access") and is simply used to help identify your account within the app.
Sign in to the app using your Skyward Family Access username (which is included in the email mentioned above) and the password you created.
Click the green "Continue in App" button if prompted.
You're all set! Once school begins, you'll be able to use Skyward Family Access to view your student's attendance, schedules, grades, assignments, and other important information throughout the school year.
Reporting Student Absences
Beginning this school year, parents and guardians will also use Skyward Family Access to submit student absence requests.
To submit an absence request:
Open your Skyward Family Access by using one of the methods mentioned above.
Select the student for whom you are requesting the absence.
Tap the Attendance icon.
Select the Absence Requests tab.
Tap the green + Add Absence Request button.
Enter the date(s) of the absence and provide the requested details.
If applicable, attach supporting documentation, such as a doctor's note.
Tap Save at the top of the screen to submit your request.
After you submit your request, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to the district's Attendance Matters website, where you can learn more about attendance procedures and documentation requirements.
If your student's healthcare provider determines that it is medically infeasible for your student to attend school for multiple consecutive days, please ask the provider to complete the Serious/Life-Threatening Medical Condition form and return it to your campus attendance clerk.
Need Help?
If you experience any issues accessing Skyward Family Access, submitting an absence request, or have questions about your account, please contact our campus Attendance/PEIMS clerk.
We appreciate your patience and partnership as we make this transition. We are confident that Skyward Family Access will provide an improved experience for families and make it easier than ever to stay informed and engaged in your child's education.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a wonderful school year!
Parent Square
We’re making it easier to stay connected in Aledo ISD!
Aledo ISD is now transitioning to ParentSquare for all communication between school and home. Families can receive updates, find important links, view the district calendar and more—on your phone, computer or through the free app.
Just as with Remind previously, all students and parents/guardians will be loaded into ParentSquare and rostered into their classes. We are releasing rostered classes this week and next as schedules and teacher assignments are released; if your child's schedule changes, your access will change the next day to reflect an updated schedule.
Sign in using the email you provided during student registration: https://www.parentsquare.com/signin
Download the app: https://www.parentsquare.com/resources/app-download/
Campus Clubs and Organizations
Clubs and Organizations Parent Consent Form
In accordance with Senate Bill 12 passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, school districts are required to obtain written parental consent before allowing a student to participate in a school-sponsored club or organization.
Please review the list of clubs and organizations at your child's school and indicate your consent below. A separate form will need to be completed for each student.
Arrival and Dismissal
Student drop-off and pick up is located in our front drive off of Bailey Ranch Road. Please do not drop off/pick up students in the faculty parking lot, bus lane/horseshoe drive, or at the gym entrance. For student safety and traffic flow reasons, we ask that all parents use the front drop-off lane (Orange Arrows).
9th Grade bus riders will enter the building through the cafeteria entrance located next to the bus horseshoe drive on the west side of the building.
10th-12th Grade bus riders will enter Door 25 which are the doors you will enter when transitioning from AHS to Daniel.
Dismissal
The dismissal bell rings at 4:10 p.m.
Car riders exit the building after 8th period and wait for their ride along the front sidewalk. For safety reasons, please do not pick up your student in the parking lot.
Bus riders exit the building after 8th period and load buses. Students wait for buses along the sidewalk in the bus loop. We call it the horseshoe. (Yellow Arrows).
Watch carefully for your bus to arrive as buses will not return to school once departed. Your bus may not arrive/depart at the same time every day, so you must pay attention.

General Parking
Aledo High School students who wish to drive to school and park in one of the high school student lots will be required to purchase a parking permit for the 202-2027 school year. General parking sales are now open through MySchoolBucks and will remain open throughout the school year. The map displays general parking areas in green. We will have additional general parking for all students to access the Field House and Steve Wood Complex.
AHS parking permits are $50 for full-year parking and $25 for students just needing parking for the second semester. Students who purchase a senior reserved parking spot DO NOT need to purchase a parking permit separately; the cost of the permit is included with the senior reserved parking spot. Parking fees will be utilized to support safety and security-related items at AHS and AISD.
Permits will be available for pick up in cafeteria during lunches the first week of school.
If you need financial assistance with parking fees, please reach out to your school counselor.
Student IDs
At Aledo High School, the safety and security of our students, staff, and families is always a top priority. One way we strengthen campus safety is by requiring all students to wear their school-issued ID badge whenever they are on school property during the school day.
Students received their ID badges during Bearcats Are Back. If your student did not receive their ID, they can pick it up in the cafeteria during their assigned lunch.
Please help us reinforce this important safety expectation by reminding your Bearcat to wear their ID badge around their neck and keep it visible at all times while on campus.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure campus for all of our Bearcats!
