The countdown begins for our Class of 2025! Many of them have just two weeks of school remaining before they begin to get ready for graduation. There are many events going on in the month of May that celebrates our Seniors (scroll down to see those events). We look forward to our Seniors enjoying their last few days of high school!
The rain last week forced our baseball team's second round playoff games to Saturday. They split their series with Vinemont on Saturday which will force a game three on Monday at 4:30pm. If we win, we will play at Winfield later this week.
Our softball team will play Colbert Heights at 3pm on Monday in the elimination bracket.
Our boys golf team will play in the Sectionals on Monday at Joe Wheeler. Our girls will play at Deer Run on Tuesday.
Special Olympics will be held at Tharptown on Tuesday. It was also reschedule because of the rainy weather last week.
Finally, we will induct new members into the National Honor Society on Thursday. The ceremony will be held at Northwest. Students will be bussed to the college.
Have a great week!
New Diploma Options
Click on the link to the article below for a great explanations of the new diploma pathways for high school students. The big takeaways are that parents/guardians and students need to fully informed of the choices and the consequences of the choices. It will much easier to start with Option A and fall back to Option B than vice versa. And, if your child plans to attend a four-year college, Option A is the best. The AHSAA will recognize Option B for athletic eligibility. The NCAA, unlikely.
