PARKER WEEKLY BULLETIN
Week of April 6th, 2026
Message from Principal Blagg
Good afternoon Parker Families:
It was a very busy week at Parker. The week has been spent preparing for the first round of MCAS tests starting with the English Language Arts portion next week. The students have been prepared thoroughly by our fantastic staff. Our Sixth-grade students will be taking the ELA portion of the MCAS on Thursday and Friday of next week April 9 and 10. The fifth grade students will be taking the ELA test on Monday and Tuesday April 13 and 14. Any students who missed a session of the test due to absence will make up the tests on Thursday and/or Friday April 16 and 17.
Term 3
Term 3 grades close on Thursday, April 9 and report cards will be made public next Thursday, April 16. Please reach out to your child's teacher or counselor with any questions or concerns. The fifth-grade counselor is Ms. Melissa MacIsaac and the sixth-grade counselor is Dr. Autumn Dolan. It is hard to believe that we only have one quarter left!
Artists of the Month - Jacob Krenning and Nika Ramisetti
It is with great pride that i announce the April Artists of the month: Grade 5 - Jacob Krenning and Grade 6 - Nika Ramisetti. These two aspiring artists express themselves with grace, passion, and beauty. These students have developed their skills under the direction of Ms. Annunziata who inspires with her infectious enthusiasm and kindness. We are so proud of you both!
MICCA
Congratulations are in order for our Festival Orchestra students under the direction of Ms. Lisa Tiano and the All Town Wind Ensemble (ATWE) students under the direction of Mr. Vincent DeStefano who performed and competed at MICCA, the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association, last weekend. The students have dedicated themselves to their craft and have practiced long and hard. Each ensemble earned Gold Medals which is truly an awesome accomplishment. We are so proud of you all!
Have a great weekend everyone. Please reach out if you need support.
Warm Regards,
Josh

CELL PHONE AND SMART WATCH USAGE
In order to provide a positive and engaging learning environment it is important that students are freed from unnecessary distractions. Cell phones and smart watches have proven to be a major distraction and source of anxiety and social drama for students.
If students need to contact home, they should see their teacher/administrator to receive permission to use the phone in the classroom or office. Conversely, if a parent needs to speak with a student, the parent should call the school office. All cell phones and/or smart watches should be off while in school. Any student using a cell phone and or smart watch while school is in session will have that cell phone and/or smart watch confiscated by administration. A first offense will lead to a warning and the administrator will return the phone to the student at the end of the day. Second and subsequent offenses will result in the phone being returned only to the parent and/or further disciplinary actions.
We would prefer that all cell phones and smart watches remain at home. If the cell phone and/or smart watch accompanies your child to school then please reinforce the expectation that they BOTH will be stored in their backpacks and powered down. Any communication with your child should be conducted through the main office or will be accessed after school has ended for the day. We appreciate your support for this policy. It is our experience that when freed from the pull of their phones and social media students are able to concentrate, be fully present, and be active participants in their education.
REMINDER-ALL DISMISSALS BEFORE 2:15 PM
REMINDER - PARKER MIDDLE SCHOOL HAS SET A 2:15 p.m. CUT-OFF TIME FOR ALL STUDENT DISMISSALS AS IT IS A CRITICAL SAFETY MEASURE THAT ENSURES A SECURE AND ORDERLY END TO THE SCHOOL DAY.
~THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION WITH THIS POLICY. Please contact the office with any questions or concerns.
