Virtue of the Month - Kindness

During the month of March, we will focus on the virtue of kindness. God wants us to be kind to everyone we meet. Being kind is about more than just pretending to be nice. It is about helping and playing with others because we want to and not because we feel we have to. God helps us to be kind to our family and friends because by being kind we are able to see God in everyone we meet.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. ~Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama

  • A kind person…

    † gives his/her time to help others

    † stands by his/her friends in time of need

    † shares with his/her friends

    † is polite

    † cares about other people’s feelings

Hot Lunch Order for Term 3

Dear parents, Hot Lunch ordering for the spring term starts on Monday, March 2, and continues until Sunday, March 22. Please note the deadline for orders as it was quoted incorrectly in the last week’s newsletter.

Orders can be made at sme.hotlunches.net . Please ensure that your order is placed and paid for online before the deadline. Unpaid orders will not be processed until payment is received and will be removed from the system after the deadline. Only CREDIT CARD payments are accepted. Please do not leave cash or cheques at the school’s office, nor send them to your children's classrooms. Absolutely no late orders, changes or cancellations.

A note on absentee lunches. If your child is going to miss school due to a planned absence, please email lunch dates your child will be missing along with your instructions on handling your child’s lunch to hotlunch@smeschool.ca . Please make sure to send this information at least one week prior to the lunches your child will miss.

If your child’s absence is unplanned and you are unable to provide a one-week notice, please call the school office on the day of the lunch and leave your instructions with the school secretary. This way, our kitchen crew will receive your instructions in a timely manner. Though the Hot Lunch Committee checks the email regularly, we cannot guarantee that an email sent the night before or on the morning of the lunch will reach the kitchen crew in time. Thank you!

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
