🐬BAYSIDE ELEMENTARY NEWS🐬
October 2026
ONE SCHOOL. ONE TEAM. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. DEIGHAN
Dear Bayside Families,
I don’t know about you, but I am shocked that it is already October and that we have officially entered the fall season!
October is a wonderful time to pause and celebrate the progress we are already seeing across Bayside. Our students are becoming more confident in their classrooms, developing independence, building relationships, and working hard to grow as learners. All students have completed their beginning-of-year math and reading diagnostics, which provide valuable information to help us identify strengths and areas for growth. These diagnostics will be administered again in December so that we can monitor student progress and continue to provide targeted support in the classroom, as well as in the Flex and small group setting.
Thank you to our families for your continued partnership and support. Whether you are helping with homework, reading together, encouraging your child to do their best, or simply asking about their school day, your involvement makes a difference. Strong school-family partnerships are an important part of student success!
As the weather begins to change, please remember to send your child to school dressed appropriately for cooler temperatures. We also encourage families to continue reviewing school expectations with their children, including hallway, bus, and assembly expectations. When we work together to reinforce these expectations, we help our students make positive choices and contribute to a safe, respectful, and welcoming school community.
We have quite a busy month ahead for our students, and I am excited to see all that they will learn, experience, and accomplish. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our Bayside family.
As always, our emails, phones, and doors are always open!
With Appreciation,
Mrs. Deighan

UPDATES FROM GUIDANCE
October is Bullying Prevention Month—a time for our school community to remember that kindness, respect, and inclusion matter every day!
At school, we are learning how to recognize bullying, stand up for ourselves and others, and make sure everyone feels safe and welcome. Being an upstander can be as simple as including someone in a game, speaking up when something isn’t right, or telling a trusted adult when we need help.
Remember: Be kind. Be an upstander. Be part of the solution!
