Principal's Corner
Hello Wiggs Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you—our dedicated parents, staff, students, and community members. This time of year offers us a special opportunity to reflect on the many blessings in our lives, and I am incredibly thankful for the strong sense of partnership and support that defines our school community.
This year has brought both challenges and triumphs, and together, we have shown resilience, kindness, and commitment to our children’s growth and well-being. I am proud of the work our students have done in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts, and in their communities. I am equally proud of the way our staff and families continue to support and uplift one another.
May this holiday bring you peace, joy, and cherished time with loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Rudy Diaz
Principal

Parenting with Generosity
There are many ways to be generous. Obviously, the most common thing we think about with generosity is with monetary gifts. But the truth of the matter is, for most students, access to money is not that simple or readily available. While students might not be able to be generous financially, we should consider other ways we can encourage them to be generous and make people's day. For example, being generous with a compliment, or going the extra mile to show kindness are free ways
to make an impact in people's day. Generosity is most impactful when people can FEEL your generosity- not just see it. So it might need to be just a little bit more than just, "Have a nice day!" Maybe it's a genuine, very specific and meaningful compliment. Or a handmade gift, with a thoughtful card.
As we teach generosity, it is important to remember that we are seeking to instill generosity as a long-term trait in our students. Therefore, we aren't necessarily looking for one-time acts of giving, but rather a spirit of giving to and helping others when it is needed.
Questions to consider:
• What are the ways that you show generosity?
• Do your kids get to see that generosity?
• How could you be more intentional about talking to your kids about generosity and showing them how you do generous things?
Questions to ask your child:
- Who do you know that is generous? How do you know?
- What does generosity look like for a teenager?
- If we think of generosity as giving to and helping others, how can our family be generous with your friends or peers at school?
