Grizzly Gazzette
Week of November 2nd
Good evening Grizzly families,
Next week will be observing Veterans Day with special activities and lessons in class. Please have your child show their support of our Veterans by wearing red, white and blue! Additionally, students should have brought home a half sheet paper for families to note any Veterans in their families that they would like honored in our "Hall of Heroes." Please turn these in by Friday, so your family members can be added to our "Hall of Heroes." Stay tuned next week for more on our special Veterans Day activities!
Sincerely,
Pamela Zierk

Notes from the Nurse's Office
āHealthy Habits for a Thankful Seasonā
As we head into the busy holiday season, letās take a moment to focus on health, safety, and gratitude. November brings cooler weather, cozy celebrations, and a reminder to care for both our bodies and minds.
Cold, Flu, and RSV Prevention
Cold and flu season is here!
Please help us keep our classrooms healthy by reminding children to:
Wash hands often with soap and warm water (especially before eating and after coughing or sneezing).
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow.
Stay home if they have a fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms.
Diabetes Awareness Month
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. Many students live with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. This month, we raise awareness by supporting healthy habits and understanding their daily routines. Knowing the signs of low or high blood sugar (such as shakiness, fatigue, or irritability) can help keep our students safe.
Cold Weather Safety
As temperatures drop, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for recess and bus stops:
Warm coat, hat, gloves, and boots on chilly days.
Layers work best for comfort indoors and outdoors.
If you need help getting winter clothing for your child, please contact the nurseās office ā weāre here to help!
Nurseās Office Reminders
Update your childās emergency contact and medical information if anything has changed.
If your child takes medication at school, check expiration dates and supplies before winter break.
Vision and hearing screenings will continue through November ā youāll be notified if follow-up is recommended.
A Note of Thanks
This season, Iām thankful for our students, staff, and families who work together to keep our school community healthy. Your partnership makes a real difference every day.
Wishing you a warm, safe, and healthy November!
