U.S. News Best Middle School Award
We are proud to announce that Dryden High School (grades 7 & 8) has been recognized as a U.S. News Best Middle School for the second year in a row. Schools were assessed on their pupils’ proficiencies in mathematics and reading, as measured by state assessment tests. Half of the ranking formula was the results themselves; the other half was the results in the context of socioeconomic demographics. In other words, the top-ranked schools are high achieving ones that succeeded in educating all of their students.
October Students of the Month
Dryden High School staff members recently voted to recognize students from each grade as October Students of the Month. In conjunction with the Positivity Project, a schoolwide initiative to build positive character habits in its fourth year, the October theme was Integrity. The Students of the Month received a letter from Dryden High School Principal Mrs. Finnigan, a "front-of-the-line" cafeteria pass, and a Dryden High School Student of the Month keychain, as well as sincere congratulations and appreciation.

Adrian College
by Kaeleigh Gourieux
On October 28, 2025, Alessandra came from Adrian College to show us what they have to offer there. Adrian College is located in Tipton, Michigan, in a downtown area. Alessandra showed us the lovely things they have to offer with a very positive attitude.
Adrian College has many programs to offer, plus a lot of resource programs for students. Something I find interesting at Adrian is the fact that students can go to the Student Employment Resource Center to find “on-campus” jobs that help students with employment experience and for educational purposes outside of the classroom.
Alessandra also shared with us the residential components they offer at Adrian College, with a variety of apartments for the off-campus feel and residence halls. Personally, I do not want to live on campus, especially for how far away Adrian is, but I still believe that their living arrangements are very nice.
Even though Adrian College has a high education, there is a small number of students at the school, which is something I do like. I would prefer to be in a classroom relatively similar to the size we have here at Dryden, so knowing that the student population is 1,800 is very comforting. Plus, knowing the range of students that come to Adrian, they are around 45 minutes from Toledo, Ohio, so there are even some out-of-state students who attend Adrian College.
I believe Alessandra came in with a positive attitude and shared a great presentation. I think Adrian College is a great school and a good choice for students here at Dryden.
