“Foster Growth by Challenging Critical Thinkers to Take Risks,

Honor Differences & Care for Others”

FLYING INTO SPRING FLYING INTO SPRING

As the spring season unfolds, our students across all grade levels are embracing the warmer days and the energy that comes with them! It’s been wonderful to see them enjoying time outside and bringing that same enthusiasm into the classroom.

This time of year is also a natural moment for reflection. Students have been taking time to look back on their learning journeys, celebrating how much they’ve grown—academically, emotionally, and physically. It’s been a joy to witness the pride they feel in their accomplishments as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, and friends.

Our first graders, in particular, have shared some exciting milestones. They’ve deepened their understanding of place value and time in math, grown in their ability to write stories and conduct research, and are proudly showing off their Spanish language skills. They’re also creating more detailed and thoughtful pieces in art, showcasing their creativity and growth.

We are so proud of all our students and the progress they’ve made this year. Thank you for your continued support as we head into the final stretch of the school year!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER COUNSELOR'S CORNER

We are so fortunate to have our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Fitch, who continues to guide our students in developing strong, positive mindsets! This month, Mrs. Fitch has been sharing powerful strategies that help students understand the connection between their brains, their moods, and their actions. By learning to control their thoughts, students are discovering that they can take charge of their emotions and behavior.

Our third graders had a special opportunity to create sparkling affirmation jars—a creative and meaningful activity that helped them reflect on how positive thoughts can lead to positive actions. These beautiful jars are now a daily reminder that optimism begins from within.

Mrs. Fitch also introduced students to the science behind positive self-talk and how it helps build resilience, self-confidence, and a more optimistic outlook. It's inspiring to see our students practicing these skills each day and cheering each other on as they grow into thoughtful, empowered individuals!

MONSTER MASTERPIECES MONSTER MASTERPIECES

This week in math, our students brought geometry to life—literally! As part of a fun and creative project, students applied their understanding of geometric concepts to design and build their very own geometry monsters.

Each monster was crafted using a variety of geometric shapes and properties. If you look closely, you’ll notice open and closed shapes, isosceles and equilateral triangles, and angles of all kinds—acute, obtuse, and right. Students also incorporated different types of lines and polygons to add character and detail to their creations.

This hands-on activity was not only a hit with the class, but also a great way to review key math vocabulary in a meaningful and memorable way. We’re so proud of their hard work and creativity!

CONGRAULATIONS INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS CONGRAULATIONS INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS

We are incredibly proud of our third through fifth grade students who completed the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments this week. Throughout each testing session, our students demonstrated focus, resilience, and a commitment to doing their very best.

Our third through fifth graders showed great determination on both the literacy and math assessments, and our fifth graders also tackled the state science assessment with confidence. It was inspiring to see their hard work and preparation pay off—each student approached testing with a positive attitude and gave their full effort every day.

We also want to give a special shout-out to our younger students, who helped create a quiet and respectful testing environment for their older peers. Their support made a big difference!

We look forward to receiving and reviewing student results, which are expected to be released this summer. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child's learning and growth!
