JULY 2024 JULY 2024

Cimarron Families,

I hope you are having a great summer. It's always amazing how fast it goes by! We are gearing up for a great 24-25 school year; it will be here before we know it! Construction in our Fine Arts wing is progressing well and our custodial department has been working hard to ensure the building is in great condition come August. Please take some time to read through all of this newsletter, as there are several important pieces of information and things we need from you to help your child begin school smoothly in August.

I look forward to meeting, and reconnecting, with our Cimarron families soon. Have a fantastic last few weeks of summer!

Kyle Harrison

Principal

Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP)

All PK - 12th grade students will be issued a district device to use for learning this year. At times, PK - 5th grade students may be given the option to take their district-issued device home with them to use, but they will mostly use their device in the classroom. All 6th - 12th grade students will be required to take their devices home each day.

All devices have a case to prevent accidental damage, however, we strongly recommend that families purchase the Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) for each student. STPP will cost $10/year for all students in PK - 5th grade, and will cost $20/year for all students in 6th - 12th grades. Parents/Guardians will be financially responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged Chromebooks and/or iPads, as well as chargers and cases. This plan covers your student’s device at school and outside of school. You may pay for the STPP online via our InTouch payment system. If you have difficulties using the payment portal, these directions should be able to help. The last day to purchase this coverage is Friday, September 20, 2024.

Camp Cimarron Camp Cimarron

Camp Cimarron is coming up August 7th from 8 am - noon. This is a time for students to get to know their advisory classmates, take a tour of the building, and hear from our 8th grade WEB leaders about all the great things going on at Cimarron. They will hear about things like:

  • How to be successful in 6th grade
  • What to expect on the first day of school.
  • Where are the important areas like the grade level restrooms, media center, elective classrooms, and cafeteria.
Students can be dropped off at the entrance to the Main Gym on the southeast corner of our campus. You can begin dropping off your child at 8:00am, so we can begin the tour at 8:15am. WEB leaders, teachers, counselors, and administrators will take it from there!

Parents: After dropping your child off at the Main Gym, you are welcome to join Mr. Harrison in the Small Gym (come through the main entrance) for information on what school will be like for your child. We'll get started at 8:30am.
