A Note From Dr. Hooks
Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,
Thank you for an incredible first week of school! It has been a joy to see our students settling into routines and engaging in learning. As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday in recognition of Labor Day. We also look forward to welcoming you to Back to School Night on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. so families can meet the Student Support Team, Inner Core Teachers, Multilingual and Special Education Teams, the PTA, and our community partners.
If you require extended Champions aftercare that evening, please contact Champions directly. Families not currently enrolled in Champions may request childcare for enrolled Hyde-Addison ES students by completing the link under “News and Updates.”
We are also grateful for your patience and cooperation during arrival and dismissal. As a reminder, please do not park in the “Kiss and Ride” lane during morning drop-off, stop your car in the middle of the road, or park in the bus zones at the front of the school. While spaces directly in front of the school are limited, there is usually parking available on P Street and nearby side streets.
Thank you again for your continued support and partnership. We are off to a wonderful start!
As always, please feel free to email hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov with any school specific inquiries.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Calvin Hooks, Principal
Hyde-Addison Elementary School
