Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well and thriving as we embark on another exciting week at our school! Your involvement and support are invaluable to us, and we are truly grateful for the partnership we share in nurturing our students’ growth and development.
Celebrations from the Week
- A heartfelt thank you to our KPS Food Service Team for providing our students with a wonderful hands-on learning experience at the Farmer's Market on Friday! The children thoroughly enjoyed "shopping" for fresh produce, hopefully sparking engaging discussions at home.
- We also want to extend our gratitude to our amazing PTO for their support in ensuring a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal process. We have received numerous compliments regarding the calm atmosphere as students enter the building, ready to learn, and the seamless dismissal procedure.
- Next week, we are excited to launch our new 5th Grade Panther Patrol, where selected students will take on leadership roles similar to the 5th grade safeties of the past. They will assist in placing cones, opening doors for younger students, and helping in kindergarten and first-grade classrooms. More information and permission slips will be sent home soon!
Important Announcements
Attendance Matters
It is essential for students to be present and engaged in school for the full day whenever possible. We understand that exceptions arise for illnesses or extenuating circumstances. However, we are noticing an increase in early pick-ups and last-minute changes to dismissal plans.
To ensure a smooth dismissal process, please remember:
- Email teachers in advance for any changes.
- Write notes for changes when possible.
- Call before 3:15 PM for any last-minute adjustments.
Please note that we will not be able to answer phones or accept changes between 3:20 PM and 3:50 PM, except in emergencies. This helps minimize disruptions as teachers wrap up their day with all students. Thank you for your cooperation and support in making dismissal smoother for everyone.
Upcoming Dates
- No School: Wednesday, October 22nd (Professional Development Day for staff)
- Popcorn Friday: This Friday, October 24th! Enjoy popcorn for just 50 cents per bag.
- Literacy Parade: Save the date for our annual parade on Friday, October 31st. This will be a half day, and the parade will start at 10:30 AM. Parents are welcome to line the sidewalks starting at 10:20 AM.
As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering the strong partnership between our school and families. Together, we can create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students.
Thank you once again for all of your support!
Warm regards,
Principal Rosecrans
