Please take note!

Our next school wide book chat will be on Beartown: A Novel (Beartown Series) by Fredrik Backman The discussion group will be during Crane Con as a session so stay tuned for that schedule!

April Crane Chronicles can be read here. Thanks to the students and staff who work so hard to create this for you!

Interested in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry? If so, there is an open house coming soon at the Boys and Girls Club to learn more about this pre apprenticeship program for students 16+. You will have an opportunity to use this as an internship if you are a current junior or take it as an elective course.

Mr. Marchant is a top 16 finalist for TCPalm teacher of the year based on all of the votes he earned last time. This is a bracket set up, so we will hopefully get him to the finals, but let’s start by getting him through round 1! https://www.tcpalm.com/story/news/education/2026/04/12/vote-for-your-favorite-tcpalm-teacher-of-the-year/89343577007/

REMINDER - GPA AND DE: Students must maintain a 3.0 High School Unweighted GPA to take Dual Enrollment courses. Your grades this term will drastically impact your eligibility for Dual Enrollment in future terms if you are below or very close to a 3.0.

For example, an A is worth 4.0 and a B is worth 3.0, so those grades would improve your GPA. If you are getting a C or a D, those grades would decrease your GPA.

Crane Con schedule will be out soon! In the meantime, make sure to mark your calendars for May 1, 4, 5, and 6 for some wonderful sessions to help you with preparing for life after high school. Sessions include: Automotive Basics, Hands only CPR, Stretching, career panels, science escape rooms, and much much more!

Science Week will be celebrated April 20-23rd and SNHS has some earth friendly events planned. Monday- bring in your plastic bags for recycling and commit to reusable bags

Tuesday- Draw and Color Plants and Flowers (sounds relaxing!)

Wednesday- Wear Earth inspired shirts, bring a blanket and have a picnic

Thursday- Stretching at lunch- bring a towel

Important Info From Ms. Stastny

Ms. Stastny will be out on maternity leave any day now! For this reason, the following is very important:

Summer Registration - If you plan to take college dual enrollment courses and haven't yet met with Ms. Stastny, please make an appointment as soon as possible (NOT during class time) using this link: https://calendly.com/kstastny-irsc/summer-scheduling

Fall Registration- Checking your email is SO IMPORTANT during this time (and always). Current Freshmen and Sophomores received a google form that needs to be completed. If you do not complete the google form, Ms. Stastny will pick your courses based on what you need/are eligible for.

Current Juniors have met with Ms. Stastny if they plan to take Summer courses, or they need to grab an appointment using the link above.

Students will be responsible for registering themselves for Fall courses. EMAILS WILL BE SENT on how to do this, and when. Registration does not open until May 19th and it will be in a new system, not in workday.

Appointments will be available over the Summer to discuss Fall Registration. This information will be emailed when appropriate.

Email all non urgent questions to Ms. Stastny even during her absence and she will get back to you when she can. Urgent matters need to be emailed to Dr. Judd or Mrs. Villwock.

Older Info you may need to access

This year Clark Advanced Learning Center will be launching a new program called Flight School for all Junior and Senior Cranes. Junior and Senior students are required to be on campus from 9:30-11am every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. During this time, Administration and Counselors will discuss important information, dates and deadlines, college and career opportunities and required instruction. This time is set aside to help better prepare all 11th and 12 graders for your next steps before you take flight. The 3 hours a month you spend in Flight School will replace the majority of required senior meetings. You can expect guest speakers, college application direction, scholarship application assistance, essay writing workshops, and much more.

Below please find required dates:

May 8th (Juniors in Flight School; seniors doing grad check out and getting caps/gowns/regalia and more!)

All morning announcements with QR codes are displayed on the bulletin boards by the front office and west doors. Make sure you scan when you see something of interest.

If you have lost your ID card, you must bring $10 for a replacement to Mrs. Farias upstairs within 1 day of losing it. These are keys to the building and we do not want anyone to enter who should not be here or may want to cause harm.

Communication- we rely heavily on email. Students will always receive Clark info to the Clark email address. Parents/ guardians- If you want a different email than the one this came to, email ljudd@irsc.edu and CC kfarias1@irsc.edu and we will try to get all systems updated.
