Dear Parents and Guardians,

Starting Monday, February 27th, we will be conducting boundary school visits for students. On

their scheduled day, students will be bussed to their 23-24 boundary school. Once they arrive,

they will be welcomed by the school staff and administrators who will show them around the

building. The building tours will take place from February 27-March 13 during the day. Students

will be accompanied by administrators on the buses. If you have any questions or do not wish

for your child to participate, please contact your current building principal by Friday, February

24th. Thank you for your participation as we help students make this transition.

Best,

Vickie Carpenter

Assistant Superintendent for Foundational Learning

Next week we are celebrating National School Breakfast Week!

The menu for the week is as follows:

Monday: Muffins or Cereal

Tuesday: Sausage Pancake on a Stick

Wednesday: Breakfast Pizza Bagel

Thursday: Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Friday: Powdered Mini Donut Cup

Dear Parents/Guardians of Incoming Kindergarteners,

After reviewing our transportation routes, we determined that it was necessary to update the

boundaries for our kindergarten academies for the 2023-2024 school year. Your child’s

kindergarten will no longer be based on the elementary schools. It will be determined by your

residence within these newly established boundaries.

To find your kindergarten, please use the map on our website. You can type in your exact

address to find which school your kindergartener will attend.

If you have already registered for kindergarten and your school changed, the principal will

contact you. You do not need to fill out a new enrollment form. Your child’s information will be

transferred to their new school.

If you have not registered for kindergarten yet, please do so using the updated map. The

enrollment forms can be found on our website.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition. If you have any

questions, please contact the office of the Assistant Superintendent for Foundational Learning

at 317-789-3724.

Sincerely,

Perry Township Schools

Unit 3-- Empathy and Kindness

Your child is participating in the Second Step program at Mary Bryan Elementary. Information was sent out about the content in this program at the beginning of the year.

Our students complete one unit (5 lessons) each 9 weeks. Each unit has a different focus. This quarter, all of our students will be learning about Empathy and Kindness. Children learn how to recognize kindness and act kindly, have empathy for others and take others’ perspectives, and recognize kind acts and empathy as important elements of building and maintaining relationships.

The Parent information for each grade level is attached below. This will give you an overview of what your student is learning and ideas for how to build on these skills at home.

Get Crafty! Teen art and craft program at Southport library

We are starting an art and craft program for teens aged 12-18 that I thought you might want to share with your students. We’ll be meeting once a month (for now!) on the first Thursday of every month from 4-5pm. We’ll have guided art or craft activities each month, and, if time allows, an opportunity for some free creative time. Our first date will be next week on March 2, and I’ve attached a flyer with the details and dates for this year if you’d like to share. Registration through our website (http://attend.indypl.org/events) is encouraged so we can have materials prepared.
