WHS Gets Fit for a GAGA Pit!

Students have been super-excited since we kicked-off our fundraiser. They were thrilled that we had an assembly last week with Space Jam from the Harlem Wizards! We are raising money to Get Fit for a GAGA Pit! All proceeds will go toward the purchase of an outdoor GAGA pit with flooring. We look forward to celebrating with the Wizards again in a closing ceremony on February 11. In the meantime, students have been watching and participating in an exclusive series of six interactive video episodes led by Harlem Wizard stars, Swoop & Broadway. The children will get fit, learn tricks, have fun, earn prizes, and be coached on the importance of good character by the Wizards!

Congratulations to Miss Ricardo (pictured below) and her class for winning first-place in our Snow Ball Door-Decorating Contest! Mrs. Frohn's class won second-place, while Mr. Grant & Mrs. Shinn shared the third-place win with their students! The contest was intended to promote interest in our Snow Ball, an HSA giveback event for families in our WHS community!

This year’s first ever WHS Winter Snow Ball was an unforgettable evening of fun, laughter, and cherished memories! Students brought their “Someone Special” — whether it was a parent, sibling, grandparent, or another beloved adult — to share in the magic. The night was filled with lively music from CHPAC Entertainment, plenty of delicious snacks, exciting activities, and a few delightful surprises along the way. Thank you to the H.S.A. for organizing this incredible event and to everyone who attended for making it such a heartwarming celebration!

Students spread character-based messages and captured their memories by creating legacy rocks!

We are excited to announce that Whitehouse School is in the process of creating a rock garden that will be filled with legacy rocks painted by second and third graders. Our maintenance team did a fabulous job building the rock garden boundaries at the outdoor Cafetorium entrance, which will be the home for these special rock creations. A special thanks goes out to our school counselor, Ms. Keri Morabito, and our art teacher, Ms. Lenora Iglesias, for taking the lead on this project. Last year, they worked with an amazing group of eighth graders who painted a base coat on all of the rocks. We will be placing the completed rocks in the rock garden in the spring. Please be on the lookout for these little masterpieces very soon and for years to come!

We are teaching the children to care during the month of February. Caring is defined as being kind and helpful to others, and wanting them to be safe and happy. Please partner with us and encourage your children to continue to show good character as they earn your permission to shade in pieces of their bucket-filler Caring puzzle!
