Advent Lessons & Carols is a beautiful and historic service that traces its roots to the Church of England in the late 19th century. The scriptures, prayers, and carols have remained largely unchanged. During the service, we will hear the scriptures that tell the story of the prophets who foretold the coming of the Messiah, leading us all the way to the birth of Jesus, God’s promised King. It is a service filled with hope, expectation, and wonder as we prepare our hearts for the arrival of the Christ child.

As we close the semester in community, we invite St. Luke's parents, grandparents, alumni and friends to join us for our Lessons and Carols worship service with students in 1st–8th grade on Friday, Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Students should wear dress uniform.

New this year!
We will also hold an Early Childhood Lessons and Carols, a developmentally appropriate, pageant-style version of the service. This will take place on Friday, Dec. 19 at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Families are warmly invited to come and enjoy this special time of worship with our youngest students.

Holiday on the Hilltop Holiday on the Hilltop

Holiday on the Hilltop is quickly approaching, and Parent Council has lots of fun planned! Students may wear Christmas pajamas to school on Thursday, December 18th, and they will enjoy pictures with Santa, hot cocoa, and the SNOW SLIDE is back! Parents, we will need some help to make the magic happen! We have volunteer shifts in the gym to help with pictures with Santa, snowball fights, and hot cocoa...as well as in the north parking lot to help with the snow slide. Please CLICK HERE to view the Sign Up Genius and sign up for a time slot that works for you! PK-4th classroom parties will also be happening on the 18th (5th-8th will take place the morning of the 19th), so check with your class captain for more info on those!

All students Kindergarten through 8th grade will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to be able to participate on the snow slide. A paper copy of the form came home in backpacks, but if you'd prefer to fill out digitally, you may CLICK HERE to access the waiver. If you fill out digitally, you will need to either print and sign and return to the front office or sign electronically and email to lbarron@sles-sa.org. Please note: a signed waiver will need to be returned to your child's teacher or the front office by December 17th in order for your child to participate on the snow slide.

Thanks for your support! We're looking forward to a fun day on the 18th!
