- If your child needs to be absent, please call our office before 9:00 am to report the absence. Our number is (517) 279-5980.

From the Principal's Desk
Every minute of learning matters! Arriving on time and staying for the full school day helps your child stay connected to learning and classmates. Even a few minutes missed regularly can add up to many hours of lost learning over the school years. Thank you for making consistent attendance a priority.
Thank you also for supporting our Mum Fundraiser! All proceeds will help cover the costs of field trips and assemblies, bringing meaningful experiences to our students.
As a reminder, RTC is a place where children learn to problem-solve. We teach restorative skills that help students reflect on their choices, take responsibility, repair relationships, and make a plan for moving forward.
Thank you for partnering with us to help every child learn and grow!
Dear Families,
Please read down for all the information you need to know about our school's celebration of Halloween!
Thank you for your cooperation! We are looking forward to a safe, fun, & spooky day at school!
- Mrs. Neubecker
Costume Rules πΊ
π Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: Avoid costumes with violent or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing gruesome or violent.
π« No Weapons: Please donβt include any toy weapons in the costume.
ποΈ Masks and Makeup: Masks that cover the eyes and face are fine, as long as your child can see clearly. Please keep makeup minimal and apply it at home. Remember, learning is still happening, so your child will need to remove their mask during class.
π§₯ Safe Costumes: Make sure your childβs costume doesnβt have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught.
π Easy-to-Carry Props: If your child has props, they should be easy to manage, especially if they take the bus.
Classroom Parties
Parents are welcome to join the parties this year. All food or treats should be individually wrapped and commercially prepared. Please do not send your child to school in their costume or makeup; they will have time to change before the party. As a general reminder, children's costumes should not depict blood, gore, weapons, or horror. Specific questions about costumes should be directed to Mrs. Neubecker. For details on your child's classroom party, please get in touch with your child's teacher.
Popcorn Fridays
Lakeland Elementary students can buy fresh popcorn for $0.50 per bag on our scheduled Fridays for the 2026/2027 school year. We will begin on 10/2/26. Instead of hunting for quarters each week, you can pre-pay for the entire year! Your child's name will be recorded with the popcorn sales team. $8.00 will cover the rest of the year.
