DMS Community Newsletter 25/26

Dear Defender Families,

We hope everyone had time to relax and recharge over the two-week holiday break. We are excited to welcome students back on campus on Tuesday, January 6! Please note that students will not attend school on Monday, January 5, as teachers and staff will participate in a Professional Development Day.

We encourage all students and families to check Infinite Campus for any schedule updates for Semester 2. Some schedule changes were made to balance class sizes or adjust semester electives.

Semester 2 is a fresh start for all students! Staying organized by using planners, regularly checking Canvas for assignments, and attending school consistently are key habits for success. Being present—both mentally and physically—each day makes a difference.

Let’s have a wonderful and successful second semester, Defenders!!! 💙

Students participate in Volleyball games.

Students participate in a Breakfast Lab making pancakes, syrup, and smoothies.

Students conducted research on an African country and created an informative one-pager displaying the information.

Students constructed and labeled the parts of an animal cell.

Students built catapults to launch snowflakes through targets to demonstrate kinetic and potential energy.

Students created plaster people sculptures.
