Day of the Dead

On November 2, staff at the district’s Donaldson Administrative Building celebrated Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

Outreach Thursday

On November 4, the FACE Team distributed books at the Foodarama located by Eisenhower HS. Outreach Thursdays aim to get into the community to hear of their needs and ways to support them.

Choice Schools Festival

Aldine families had the opportunity to learn about the Family and Community University during the Choice School Festival held at the MOC on November 6.

Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee

On November 9, the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee had the second meeting of the year. At this meeting, parents discussed the district's challenges and concerns.

Be Inspired

Aldine stakeholders shared inspirational stories during the Be Inspired event held on November 13.

The English session counted with Demya Wheatfall, Jones MS teacher; Mariana de Gortari, community partner; and Ndeye Ly, Nimitz HS student. Hawa Aline, a student at Young Women’s Leadership Academy, was the moderator.

Irma Rodríguez, the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Strategic Initiatives and Accountability, moderated the Spanish session. Panelists included Jacqueline Beas, Principal at Worsham ES; parent Nelida Martínez; and community partner Adrianna Reyna.

Commissioner Adrian Garcia delivered a special message to families.

Thanksgiving Meals

Thanks to the generosity of the Serving the Community organization, families at Magrill Primary, Dunn Elementary, Young Women's Leadership Academy, and Nimitz High School received turkey and ham for their Thanksgiving celebration.

Complementary Pizza

The staff at de Santiago Primary received complimentary pizza for being the school with the highest percentage of attendance to the District's Fall Family Conference held in October at Davis HS.

National Parental Involvement Day

As a token of appreciation for their continued support, Aldine ISD's parents received a certificate of appreciation on November 18.

Turkey Drive

Our Community Partner, Equality Health Foundation collaborated with the Pep Mueller Community Center and Aldine ISD Family and Community Engagement Department to provide Odom Elementary and Stovall Middle School families with an opportunity to drive up and receive a FREE turkey for their holiday celebration. The organization donated 1,000 turkeys to the community on November 13, 2021.

The FACE Team surprised four families who have already earned over 20 tokens for their participation at the Family and Community University. The families received pizza and a certificate. Congratulations to all of them!

Outreach Thursday

On December 2, the FACE team will be distributing books from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at El Sausalito apartment complex located at 16250 Imperial Valley Dr, Houston, TX 77060. This community has students from De Santiago, Marcela, Lewis MS, Nimitz HS, and Aldine HS.
