March Madness
As many people across the country watch the NCAA basketball journey to the National Championship, Rodeo Palms teachers are working hard to provide top tier instruction to our students.
Parents and guardians are an important factor in the success of our Razorback students. Please assists the RPJH staff by speaking with your student about the following things as we are one big team working together to ensure the success of all our Razorbacks:
- Be on time to class with your school supplies
- Be respectful and follow directions
- Participate in class and take notes
- Turn your work in on time (Check Skyward grades and attendance each week)
- Be kind to each other (Check the messages being shared in Group Chats)
In the spirit of March Madness, I have provided the number of instructional days until each STAAR test is given. 6th and 7th grade students will take a STAAR test for Reading and Math, while 8th grade students have 4 STAAR exams (reading, math, science and social studies). While everyone may not agree with STAAR testing, it is the method used by the state of Texas to assess the curriculum being taught in public schools. STAAR performance is also used to determine the letter grade assigned to each public school. I am pleased with the academic gains made by our students last school year and know they will be even better this school year.
I will send a more detailed letter to each grade level next week detailing the academic status once interim testing is complete.
To help motivate students, the campus is planning several rewards with the first one being a club day on Friday, April 26th to celebrate their hard work leading up to STAAR. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Thank you for partnering with me for the success of your student.
Kind Regards,
Jamie Baldwin, Principal

Alvin ISD honors 25 district employees with the Alvin ISD Believes Award!
On Thursday, March 21, Alvin ISD administrators embarked on a mission to surprise 25 district employees with the Alvin ISD Believes Awards. This recognition aligns with our district's vision, "Each Student, Every Day," and our mission, which underscores Alvin ISD's commitment to excellence for every student and program. These awards honor outstanding individuals who embody our core beliefs:
- We believe students achieve their maximum potential when provided engaging learning opportunities.
- We believe parents expect excellence in educational experiences that will make each child's goals become achievable.
- We believe teachers create a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters the success of each student.
- We believe campus leaders establish a climate where everyone matters by creating a culture of pride and ownership in their schools.
- We believe the central office provides the foundation to equip staff with resources in a supportive environment so that each student has the opportunity to thrive.
- We believe the Board of Trustees engages the community to create an environment where excellence is prioritized to ensure each student reaches his or her maximum potential.
